About us

Small Potatoes is a small but growing food company with several brands we make ourselves and we make products for other food brands. We're building what we call a 'brand house' where we innovate and launch new products under our brands, sometimes buy new brands, help other companies innovate, and always try to improve our products and grow sales/production.

We're a small, scrappy team that needs more scrappy team members to help us build the company and implement new processes as we grow. We utilize technology to help us drive efficiency with our deep experience in the food business.

Role Overview:

The Fulfillment Manager runs our warehouse: everything coming in, everything going out, and the tracking that holds it all together. You'll coordinate four constant flows — finished goods arriving from our production team, customer orders going out (both DTC parcels and palletized retail/wholesale orders), raw materials arriving for production, and warehouse transfers heading out to other facilities.

This is a working manager role. On a typical day you'll be on a forklift moving and slotting pallets, staging orders, and reorganizing storage — and at a computer keeping tracking spreadsheets current and managing orders in ShipHero, our warehouse management system (WMS). Roughly half the job is physical warehouse work and half is coordination and computer work. If you only want to manage from a desk, or you only want to do the physical work and skip the tracking, this role will frustrate you. If you like owning both, you'll have real autonomy over how the warehouse runs.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordination & Planning:

Coordinate daily with the production team on finished goods coming into the warehouse.

Coordinate with supply chain on inbound raw materials and with clients on their inbound inventory.

Plan and execute outbound orders: DTC, palletized retail/wholesale, and warehouse transfers.

Set daily team priorities and staffing to balance DTC orders, retail orders, and receiving.

Tracking & Systems:

Keep daily tracking spreadsheets accurate: receiving, shipments, transfers, and time & materials by client.

Maintain inventory records in ShipHero WMS; run cycle counts and regular inventory audits.

Send time & materials reports to billing and keep client inventory reporting current.

Learn ShipHero deeply, including its team management tools. It takes effort to learn, but it's powerful once mastered — and we'll train you.

Warehouse Operations (hands-on):

Daily forklift work: unloading and loading trucks, slotting pallets, rearranging storage, staging orders.

Decide where pallets live — organize and optimize storage across multiple brands' products.

Jump in on picking and packing during peak times.

Keep the warehouse clean, safe, and audit-ready. We are an SQF-audited food facility and its standards must be adhered to.

Team Leadership:

Lead, train, and hold accountable a small warehouse team.

Plan daily work schedules so the team stays ahead of order volume, not behind it.

Shipping & Client Communication:

Coordinate with carriers for both DTC packages and palletized freight; resolve shipment issues promptly.

Communicate directly with our 3PL clients on their orders, inventory, and fulfillment requests.

Qualifications:

Experience in warehouse or fulfillment operations; handling both DTC and palletized wholesale orders preferred.

Strong spreadsheet skills — you can build and maintain a tracking sheet with formulas, sorting, and filters, not just read one. We verify this with a short skills assessment.

Comfortable learning new software; WMS experience (especially ShipHero) is a plus.

Forklift experience required; certification is a plus (we can certify you here).

Organized, consistent, and reliable — the warehouse runs on your systems and your follow-through.

Knowledge of food-product logistics (FIFO, lot tracking, food safety standards) is a plus.

Working Conditions:

Full-time, in person, day shift at our Georgetown, TX facility.

Warehouse environment with daily lifting, pallet work, and forklift operation.

Occasional weekend or evening work during peak order volumes.

Our hiring process: qualified candidates complete a short (about 15 minutes) computer skills assessment before or during the interview stage — basic spreadsheet tasks similar to the daily work of this role. No trick questions; it simply shows us you can do the computer half of the job as well as the warehouse half.
