Part-Time | On-Site | Flexible Daytime Hours
Ascent Insurance Solutions is a growing independent commercial insurance brokerage in Aurora, Colorado. We work with established businesses, contractors, service providers, and public entities, with a strong focus on workers’ compensation and commercial insurance.
We are looking for a Production Specialist to help create, develop, and move new business opportunities through our sales pipeline.
This is a part-time position to start, with flexible daytime hours and the opportunity to grow into full-time based on success in the role and future agency need.
What This Role Is
The Production Specialist is responsible for connecting with prospective clients, identifying potential opportunities, scheduling qualified appointments, following up consistently, and helping move prospects through the early stages of the sales process.
This is not a call-center job, and it is not a sink-or-swim producer position.
We provide targeted prospect data, training, scripts and messaging examples, follow-up templates, systems, and support. We need someone who is comfortable picking up the phone, having real conversations, following an established process, and staying organized enough to keep opportunities moving.
The right person may already be licensed in property and casualty insurance, but licensing is not required. Licensed candidates with relevant experience and the ability to take on additional responsibilities may qualify for a higher base rate and additional commission opportunities.
What You’ll Do
Your primary responsibility will be helping generate and advance qualified commercial insurance opportunities. We have all of the data and insight needed to get the conversation going and grab their attention.
This includes:
- Making outbound calls to businesses and organizations using agency-provided prospect data and targeted campaigns
- Speaking with business owners, managers, and other decision-makers about potential insurance review and quoting opportunities
- Identifying qualified prospects and scheduling appointments for agency leadership and licensed sales team members
- Sending timely follow-up emails using agency-provided templates, modified appropriately for the conversation and situation
- Gathering updated contact information and basic prospect information
- Requesting and following up on documents needed for insurance review or quoting opportunities
- Following up on missed appointments, open opportunities, and requested information
- Accurately documenting calls, emails, updated contact information, appointments, and next steps in agency systems
- Entering and maintaining opportunities in the sales pipeline
- Keeping prospect records current when new or corrected information is obtained
- Learning enough about commercial insurance and workers’ compensation to recognize where Ascent may be able to help
Qualified licensed team members may also have opportunities to assist with additional parts of the sales process and earn commission on business they help develop and close.
What Success Looks Like
Once trained and fully ramped, strong performance in this role generally means:
- Consistently making outbound calls and follow-up contacts
- Booking approximately 3 to 5 qualified appointments per day
- Maintaining accurate and current prospect and pipeline records
- Sending appropriate follow-up communication after calls and conversations
- Gathering requested information in advance whenever possible
- Following up consistently until an opportunity is closed, moved forward, or no longer viable
- Meeting activity and appointment goals without constant reminders or supervision
The goal is not simply to fill a calendar.
We care about qualified conversations, appointments that hold, accurate information, strong follow-up, and creating opportunities that can become real business.
Compensation
Expected total compensation is approximately $23 to $35+ per hour when base pay and performance-based earnings are combined.
Compensation includes:
- Base pay of $18 to $22 per hour, depending on relevant experience, insurance licensing, and demonstrated qualifications
- $10 bonus for each qualified appointment that is held
- Additional $5 bonus when requested prospect information is received before the appointment
- Agency profitability bonus opportunities
- Additional commission opportunities for qualified property and casualty licensed team members who take on additional responsibilities in the sales process
Actual earnings will vary based on experience, schedule, appointment production, agency profitability, and applicable licensed commission opportunities.
Schedule
- Approximately 20 to 30 hours per week to start
- Flexible daytime scheduling within agency business hours
- On-site in our Aurora, Colorado office
- Potential to grow into a full-time position based on demonstrated success in the role and future agency need
This is not a remote or hybrid position.
What We’re Looking For
You do not need years of insurance experience to succeed here.
You do need to be comfortable talking to people, using technology, following up, and being accountable for your work.
Strong candidates will be:
- Comfortable and confident making outbound calls
- Friendly, direct, professional, and able to hold a natural conversation
- Persistent without being pushy
- Organized and reliable with follow-up
- Comfortable working independently in Microsoft 365, email, web-based systems, CRM software, and multiple browser-based tools
- Able to navigate multiple systems, manage files and attachments, enter accurate information, and move efficiently between online platforms
- Able to learn and use established systems and processes
- Able to document activity and keep accurate records without repeated reminders
- Coachable and willing to learn before trying to change how things are done
- Self-directed after training and able to stay productive without constant supervision
- Comfortable working with activity goals, appointment goals, and other performance metrics
- Curious about business, insurance, risk management, or professional sales
Strong baseline computer skills are required.
We will train you on our systems, our processes, our sales approach, and the knowledge needed for the role.
We will not be teaching basic computer use.
Candidates should already be comfortable using email, Microsoft products, browser-based applications, online forms, shared files, attachments, multiple browser tabs, and basic business technology without step-by-step instruction.
Property and casualty insurance licensing is preferred but not required.
Commercial insurance, workers’ compensation, B2B sales, appointment setting, recruiting, business development, or other professional phone experience is a plus.
What This Role Is Not
This is not a high-volume call-center environment built around blindly dialing hundreds of numbers or hounding the same leads multiple times a day. We are firmly against that model.
It is also not a position where someone joins the agency and immediately wants to redesign systems, replace processes, or waits for us to change the tech-stack before getting results.
We provide the technology, tools, data, training, messaging, support, and structure.
We have a proven business model with realistic performance expectations.
We need someone who can learn the process, use the systems provided, communicate consistently, stay organized, and execute.
