Full Job Description

Transportation Manager

DiMare Fresh, a leading fresh produce repacker and distributor serving the DFW area, is seeking an experienced Transportation Manager to oversee and optimize our transportation operations. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with strong knowledge of fleet management, DOT compliance, driver operations, and refrigerated transportation. This is an excellent opportunity for a transportation professional who enjoys leading teams, improving processes, and making a direct impact on the success of a growing operation.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise daily transportation operations, including driver performance, route execution, safety procedures, and customer service standards.
Manage driver schedules, delivery routes, and operational coverage to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.
Ensures compliance with all DOT, FMCSA, and regulatory requirements, including ELD management, Hours of Service (HOS), driver documentation, and safety records.
Manages driver recruitment, retention, coaching, performance management, keeps open communication with drivers while enforcing policies and procedures.
Partner with the General Manager to resolve customer concerns, delivery challenges, and operational issues.
Oversee fleet maintenance schedules, equipment inspections, repairs, and overall vehicle readiness.
Manage fuel usage, maintenance expenses, and identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.
Monitor productivity reports, delivery performance, and operational analytics to improve efficiency.
Conducts regular department meetings. Schedules quarterly, monthly, weekly safety & regulatory meetings.
Step in to assist with deliveries when operational needs require so.
Perform other related duties as needed.

Required Qualifications/Skills:

3-5 years of transportation management experience preferably within produce, food distribution, refrigerated, or similar industries.
High school diploma or GED.
Strong knowledge of the transportation industry and DOT & state regulations.
Experience managing drivers, routes, safety programs, and transportation documentation.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage challenging situations.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Basic computer skills and experience with transportation technology systems.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
