Position Summary:
The Formulation and Feed Sales Support position provides administrative, technical, and operational support to the Feed Division to promote efficient sales and formulation processes. This position is responsible for accurately processing sales orders, coordinating formula changes and new formulations, tracking bid requirements and deadlines, and communicating information across departments. The role serves as an important link between Feed Sales, Formulation, Operations, and other business units to help ensure customer needs are met accurately and in a timely manner.
Essential Functions:

Accurately enter, maintain, and process sales orders in the Agris system, ensuring all required information is complete and communicated to the appropriate departments.

Prepare sales orders using established templates and verify order details for accuracy prior to processing.

Coordinate and track customer and sales bid opportunities, including monitoring deadlines, preparing bid sheets, gathering required information, and ensuring submissions are completed in a timely manner.

Coordinate requests for formula changes and new feed formulations, ensuring necessary information is obtained and communicated to the appropriate individuals to support timely completion.

Gather, organize, and communicate information regarding new ingredients, including specifications and other information necessary to support formulation, purchasing, production, and sales activities.

Accumulate and track ingredient volume information and communicate applicable data to the appropriate business unit or department.

Maintain accurate records and documentation related to sales orders, bids, formulations, ingredients, and other assigned Feed Division activities.

Communicate effectively with Feed Sales, Formulation, Operations, Purchasing, customers, and other departments to resolve questions, address discrepancies, and support efficient order fulfillment.

Identify potential order, formulation, or ingredient-related issues and work collaboratively with appropriate team members to resolve concerns in a timely manner.
Other Duties:

Assist with general administrative and operational support for the Feed Division as needed.

Provide backup support to team members when necessary to maintain continuity of operations.

Participate in departmental meetings, training, and process-improvement initiatives.

Maintain organized electronic and physical records in accordance with company procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
-
Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Agricultural Business, Agribusiness, or a related field required.

A combination of relevant education and directly related experience may be considered, if appropriate for the position.
Experience:
-
Previous experience in agriculture, feed, livestock, customer service, sales support, or a related business environment preferred.

General office and administrative experience required.

Experience using Microsoft Office applications required.

Experience with Agris or similar agricultural business software preferred.

Knowledge of feed ingredients, livestock production, and/or animal nutrition preferred.

Feed ingredients, terminology, and basic feed industry practices.

Physical Demands:
This position requires a combination of office work and periodic activity within a feed mill or agricultural operating environment. The employee must be able to:

Sit and perform computer-based work for extended periods.

Frequently use a computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment.

Occasionally stand, walk, bend, stoop, or move throughout office and operational areas.

Safely navigate feed mill and production areas when necessary.

Wear required personal protective equipment when entering designated operational areas.
Work Environment:
Work is primarily performed in an office environment with periodic exposure to feed mill and agricultural operations. When entering operational areas, the employee may be exposed to dust, noise, moving equipment, varying temperatures, and other conditions typical of a feed manufacturing environment. Compliance with all company safety policies and required personal protective equipment is expected.
