About Us

Charleston Distilling Co. is an award-winning craft distillery producing small-batch bourbon, rye, gin, vodka, rum, and specialty liqueurs in Charleston, South Carolina. Every bottle is distilled, aged, and bottled by us — including brands like Jasper's Gin, White Point Vodka, and our straight bourbon and rye whiskeys aged in our own rackhouse. We're growing our wholesale footprint beyond the Lowcountry, and we're looking for our first dedicated sales rep to lead that push.

The Role

You'll own our growth across Upstate South Carolina, Georgia, and North Carolina. This is a build-the-territory role: you'll open new on-premise and off-premise accounts, keep them reordering, and make our distributor partners actually work for us. You'll be on the road most days and largely self-directed — the results, and the pay, are yours to earn.

What you'll do:

- Open new accounts — independent liquor stores, bars, restaurants, bottle shops, and regional chains — and grow existing ones

- Ride along with distributor reps, train their teams on our portfolio, and keep our brands top-of-mind in their bag

- Run staff trainings, tastings, menu placements, and in-store events that turn placements into repeat orders

- Track depletions by account and report weekly on visits, placements, and reorders

- Represent the distillery at festivals, trade shows, and industry events in the territory

Compensation — transparent and results-based. Here's exactly how the pay breaks down — no games:

- Base salary: $50,000/year

- Mileage: reimbursed at the IRS standard rate (currently 76¢/mile) against a monthly mileage log

- Case commission: $10 for every case depleted in your territory (paid monthly from distributor depletion reports)

- New account bounty: $75 for every new account you open, paid once the account has taken at least 3 cases across two or more orders

- Ramp-up guarantee: guaranteed minimum commission during your first 120 days while you build your book, tied to weekly activity goals

- Realistic first-year earnings: $72,000–$80,000. A strong second year, with a built-out territory, clears $90,000. Commissions are uncapped.

What We're Looking For

- 2+ years of outside sales experience in beverage alcohol, or strong hospitality/beverage industry experience with an existing account network in the territory

- Working knowledge of the three-tier system and experience working with (and pushing) distributors

- Self-starter who can plan a week of account visits without being told, and closes without a script

- Comfortable running tastings and speaking to groups about spirits production

- Must be 21 or older, hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, reliable vehicle, and be able to lift a 40 lb case

- Based in the Greenville–Spartanburg area (required) — Greenville is the hub of this territory

- Overnight travel within the territory a few nights per month
