Full Job Description

If you're someone who can make a nervous stranger feel completely at ease in a two-minute phone call, we want to meet you.

You're the person who lights up when the phone rings. You're warm, you're fast, you're focused, and by the time you hang up, the caller feels like they just talked to the friendliest, most helpful person they've spoken to all week. That's the energy we're looking for.

We're a woman-led family dental practice in Bergen County looking for someone whose sole focus is the phone. Your job is to be the voice of our practice: answering new patient calls, making every caller feel welcome, and converting those conversations into scheduled appointments. When the phones are quiet, you'll reach out to existing patients to keep our schedule full through re-care outreach and follow-ups.

This is not a corporate dental office. There's no regional manager, no employee ID number, no rotating cast of providers. It's a small, tight team that supports each other and holds each other to a high standard because that's how you deliver great patient care. If you've worked in places where you felt like a number, this is different. We want someone who's excited to be part of a team like that and grow with us.

Here's the thing: you don't need dental experience. Seriously. We'd actually prefer you don't have it. If you've worked in hotel reservations, restaurant hosting, a call center, banking, retail sales, a spa, a concierge desk, or anything where you spent your day on the phone making people feel taken care of, you might be exactly who we're looking for. You bring the phone skills and the personality. We'll teach you everything you need to know about dentistry, our patients, and how the office works. You'll have real training, not a binder and a "good luck."

What you'll be doing:

Answering inbound calls, with a focus on new patients calling for the first time
Following a proven call process designed to turn callers into booked appointments
Making every person who calls feel like they've found the right place
Reaching out to patients who are overdue for appointments through calls and follow-ups
Mentoring backup staff on the phone process as the team grows

What makes someone great at this:

You genuinely enjoy talking to people — not in a "people person" cliché way, but in a "you get energy from conversations" way
You're naturally persuasive without being pushy. You know how to guide a conversation toward a yes.
You can follow a script and make it sound like it's coming straight from you
You stay focused. When you're on a call, nothing else exists.
You're comfortable being measured on results. We track call conversions and celebrate wins.
