Full Job Description

Overview
Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (L&D) for a 13-week travel assignment in Reedley, California. Start date 08/31/2026. Guaranteed 36 hours per week. Weekly pay range $2,640–$2,657 per week. Shift: 3x12-hour nights. Setting: rural, critical access care setting.

Responsibilities

Deliver direct nursing care to obstetric patients and newborns in the L&D area, following established standards and the nursing process
Monitor maternal and fetal status, administer medications, assist with labor and delivery, and manage postpartum care
Collaborate with obstetric, anesthesia, neonatal, and ancillary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure a safe, healing environment
Develop and implement a patient care plan, evaluate progress, and adjust as needed; document care and outcomes
Educate patients and families, participate in discharge planning, and provide health information to support continuity of care
Delegate appropriately and supervise nursing staff across levels; maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR

Requirements

Current RN license in the state of practice (California) or equivalent required
BSN preferred
Minimum two years of recent RN experience in labor and delivery or a related acute care setting
CPR/BLS required; Basic Life Support certification from an approved vendor per policy
AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS and AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS required
EPIC EMR experience required
Start date 08/31/2026 and 13-week travel assignment
Ability to work night shifts and on-site, travel-ready status

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Certifications

RN licensure in state of practice (CA)
CPR/BLS
AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS
AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS
EPIC EMR experience
