Full Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented, thorough, and organized IT technician to join our growing team. In this position, you will play a key role in providing support for all areas of IT. You will update systems, troubleshoot problems, and provide hands-on support for IT issues within our organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Keep systems up-to-date through operating systems upgrade.
Monitor networking equipment and servers.
Assist with the design, implementation, and ongoing support of new software and features.
Monitor web performance, network availability, and security.
Oversee troubleshooting and diagnostic tests to identify issues or system errors.
Provide customers accurate information on IT products and services.
Provide helpdesk support for network issues.
Provide technical support either by phone, email, remote access or site visits as needed, to provide solutions to technical problems.
Educate clients on procedures for resolving or preventing recurrence of a technical problem.
Carry out assessments to determine the need for changes in hardware/software configurations.
Respond to IT issues; hardware maintenance, software, networking, etc.
Evaluate connectivity issues, equipment, and software.
Modify configurations, utilities, software, etc.
Set up equipment for new users.
Install, test, and monitor servers, firewalls, and new software.
Operate and work with equipment such as smartboards, external storage devices, computer diagnostic tools, printers etc.
Perform data backups.
Install and update network system improvements as needed.
Assist with Servers, LAN/WAN technologies, computer repair/troubleshooting software, networks, virus protection, Wi-Fi technology, and more.
Develop and implement technical procedures effective in quickly addressing customers’ problems to minimize downtime.
Act as liaison between the IT unit of an organization and its clients.
Explain and provide IT solutions to customers in non-technical and comprehensible terms.
Prepare and present reports to update management on IT support operations.
Respond to inquiries about hardware or software issues. Perform scheduled maintenance on computer systems to ensure efficient operations.
Repair or replace faulty components of a computer/network system.
Design and maintain applications/websites.
Attend educational programs, workshops, and seminars to stay abreast with developments in the IT industry.
Configure and maintain telecommunication networks and systems.

Requirements and Qualifications:

High school degree or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or related field preferred.
CompTIA A+, CompTIA Net+ certification or other related IT professional certification; meet all state-required licensure/certification.
Previous experience as a help desk technician, computer technician, or IT support.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve multiple issues.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
Comfortable in a diverse and fast-paced environment.
Goal-oriented, organized team player.
Experience working with network and server management support.
Up to date knowledge of new systems, information, software, and upgrades

Abilities:

Excellent Communication Skill: IT support technicians are able to use clear language and expression to provide technical support to users.

Problem-solving Skill: They are well versed in providing IT solutions to address the needs of customers.
Interpersonal Skill: They work with various tech professionals to develop and implement IT support strategies.
Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift equipment.
