Full Job Description

North Idaho Urology is growing, and has been serving the Northern Panhandle of Idaho for over 50 years. Our mission is to provide high quality urologic care to our patients in a compassionate manner. North Idaho Urology offers exceptional care and services for our patients across the inland northwest. We want to hire staff to help us keep growing. Salary and benefits are competitive. Role and Responsibilities

Check in or out patients, high volume at times. verify patient identity, demographic information and insurance, update any and all registration information if needed.
Obtain copies if photo id, insurance cards and collection copay or other payments based on appointment and direction for the billing department.
Manages a large volume of inbound and outbound patient traffic. utilizes excellent customer service skills.
Assists with answering inbound phone calls: Provides assistance to patient and others contacting the clinic by telephone; provide direct assistance, take messages, send communication to staff or direct calls to the appropriate party.
Verifies and updates patient information to include date of birth, address, phone number, insurance, pharmacy and other required information in patient registration at every interaction
Identify caller’s needs, clarify information, research every issue, and provide solutions and/or alternatives
Schedule and reschedule appointments, verify insurance authorizations on file, if required
Send imaging and lab orders as required based on appointment
Provide patients with contact information for referrals we are placing for them, release of information forms, appointment lists
Cover at check in/out or operator as needed
Perform other administrative duties as needed, such as, but not limited to, copying, faxing, printing, etc.
Maintains and completes daily flags/phone notes in EHR
Processes payments over the phone and in person
Communicates appropriately with medical staff regarding patient concerns
Enters properly detailed documentation in the chart, and appointment notes
Monitors the schedule of your assigned physician or provider and reschedules appts when needed
Set recalls based on provider request
Send out recall letters monthly
Maintains a professional relationship and positive attitude with all NIU staff and our patients
Maintains the highest professional ethics and is honest in dealing with people; is a model for all employees through her/his actions
Strives to learn more and is receptive to new challenges and opportunities
Displays enthusiasm toward the work and the mission of NIU
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

High school degree or GED required; college degree preferred.
Computer skills required.
Knowledge of medical insurance preferred
Strong organization skills.
Strong documentation and communications skills, both oral and written.
Some medical terminology and medical office experience is required.

Physical Requirements

Constantly required to perform simple motor skills and manipulative skills such as typing and writing.
Constantly required to sit for long periods of time.
Required to walk and stand (including for long periods of time).
Constantly required to read computer screen.
Constantly required to hear normal sounds with some background noise when answering phones.
Able to process great amounts of information, multi-task, apply problem solving skills and exercise good judgment. Able to concentrate on details with interruptions.
Able to lift at least 20lbs as needed.

Compensation/Benefits

Pay Range $19.00-$22.00 per hour.
Medical, Dental, Vision and life insurance, 401K after 1 year, PTO accrual and 6 paid holidays
