POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for leading and managing the successful completion of one or multiple projects. The Senior Project Manager must have a deep understanding of contracts, scope, and budget management and demonstrates a high-level of understanding for forecasting concepts and principles while ensuring the project is completed in a safe, quality, timely, and cost-effective manner. This position will be responsible for the management of multiple construction projects from development stages to close-out. The SPM will lead the client management responsibility. The SPM will assist with training, mentoring, and collaboration of Project Managers on project management best practices, process adherence, quality program adherence, safety, risk identification and management, scheduling, contracting, and financial requirements; and is a cultural manager by ensuring the company’s fundamental values and beliefs are followed and maintained.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
§ Ensures the project establishes a safety program and culture that is positive, respectful, and proactive at the project. Works with the Project Safety Team to continuously review and improve the safety program.
§ Will ensure the quality management system is implemented, trained and proactively managed to prevent quality defects on the project. Will ensure supervision is proactively trained and utilizes our quality management system to prevent rework on the project and to provide a superior product to the customer.
§ Develop and manage the customer relationship during the project lifecycle with the goal of collaborating, serving, and building a mutual and trusting relationship. Will proactively share information with the customer on project status and any events needing attention. Will be a solution provider to the customer.
§ Lead and ensure the upfront planning of the project. Will manage and ensure the development of and the adherence to the project schedule with the project team. Will ensure the team is conducting effective meetings and reviewing the metrics, indicators and the dashboard to understand actuals versus planned as well as the associated productivity of the work. Will scenario plan, develop alternative work methods and help the team overcome schedule constraints during the project. Will work with the Director, Field Operations Manager, General Superintendents, and Trade Superintendents to appropriately staff the project organizational chart and ensure the proper amount of resources are sources and applied to the project to meet schedule and budgetary requirements.
§ Manage and own all financial aspects of the project. Will facilitate this understanding to the project team and ensure the supervision understands and is actively managing against budget. Will facilitate the transition of the estimate from the Pre-Construction team to the construction team. Will establish and own the budget, cashflow, payment structure, and invoicing process. Will ensure receivables are collected in accordance to the terms with customers and payables with suppliers. Will lead the change management process with customer. Mentors PM’s to know, understand, and demonstrate proficiency with all internal financial aspects of receivables, budget, positive cash flow, income/expenses, cost to complete, cost management reports, etc. to protect the company’s interests.
§ Manage, own, and control the negotiation and administration of the contract agreement with the Client. Supports PMs as the PM creates and correlates the contract documents with the scope proposal to ensure the project is built within the scope of the contract. Supports the PM as the PM creates, edits, and understands subcontracts, service agreements, purchase agreements, and correlates quotes to the main scope and contract.
§ Ensures the growth and skill development of the project team on and off the project. Supports development of PM’s and verifies the development of their subordinates through mentoring, formal training, and planned exposure to diverse work experiences.
§ Will bring the Pre-Construction and Operations team together and lead the closeout process focusing on all critical aspects of the project and capturing lessons learned, project metrics, and considerations for the future.
§ Will communicate, collaborate, and update the leadership on status and help needed on safety, quality, schedule, risks, opportunities, financial, changes, people, and customer relationship.
§ Provides leadership to PM’s as needed to ensure they are effectively utilizing available corporate resources such as staff and equipment. Shares knowledge of lessons learned, company values, and employees’ skills and abilities. Mentors the PM on the utilization of all company’s processes and policies.
OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
§ Troubleshoot issues as they arise; evaluates alternatives, proposes solutions and gain team buy-in
§ Makes decisions and recommendations, which can greatly affect profitability of assigned area. Makes significant independent judgments.
§ Responsible for observance of corporate policies and objectives.
§ Identify opportunities for streamlining work and reducing waste to improve efficiency.
§ Obtain state licensing certifications
§ Performs additional assignments per supervisors’ requests
QUALIFICATIONS:
§ The SPM will have a B.S. in an accredited Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, Construction Management, related field and/or commensurate experience. They will have 10-years or more project management experience with a proven construction related background in self-perform construction.
§ The candidate will have experience in directly leading more than one project team simultaneously and will have the ability to train and develop multiple leaders.
§ Strong understanding and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Database experience is a plus.
§ Strong leadership abilities and interpersonal skills; excellent verbal and written communication
§ Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
§ Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities vital; superior communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills essential. Significant business skills are required.
§ Ability to give critical feedback and have difficult conversations

§ Conceptual skills to develop thorough work plans and management schedule
§ Knowledge of construction contracts, construction regulations, and cost control systems
§ Ability to strategically work within the approved budget, conserves resources, and contributes to profit and revenues.
- Must pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and physical exam as required.
- Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.).
§ Must have valid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR).
- Maintain a professional appearance.
§ Extensive travel required
SALARY & BENEFITS:
- Anticipated Hiring Wage Range: $160,000 - $220,000 annually DOE

· We provide paid Sick Leave as determined by Colorado’s Healthy Family and Workplaces Act (HFWA).
