Full Job Description

We are a General Contractor company specializing in electrical and process equipment build. This position is a shop and field job. We do a lot of millwright work.

Job duties, but not limited to:

Prioritizing and reporting to the project manager are two of your main responsibilities as an employee
Coordinates a team that fabricates materials such as structural steel.
Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws
Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety

Requirements:

Proven experience as pipe welder with stainless tig.
Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures
Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
Deftness and attention to detail
Proficient in English
Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus
Must have experience welding pipe. 6G certification preferred
Working knowledge and experience in SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and SAW.
Previous heavy structural steel, bridge, and tank work.
Set up equipment including leads, suitcases, and weld machines.
Troubleshoot weld machines.
Follow D1.1 and D1.5 code work.
Understand and use weld gauges.

Education and experience

Millwright experience would be preferred.

· 3 years or more of relevant experience in welding and assembly of industrial equipment and piping systems (Required)

Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
