Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic and motivated Business Development Representative to join our dynamic sales team.

General Purpose

The Business Development Representative supports NextMod’s growth initiatives by

generating new business opportunities, qualifying leads, and building a robust

sales/leasing pipeline in alignment with the BDM’s strategic plan. The role emphasizes

proactive outreach, market research, and collaboration with cross-functional teams

(sales, marketing, product, operations) to convert prospects into customers for modular

classroom buildings and related services.

Key Responsibilities

1) Market Research and Opportunity Identification

- Conduct detailed market research to identify target segments (education sector,

municipalities, Department of Defense, etc.) and regional opportunities.

- Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and procurement processes (especially in

education and government sectors).

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NextMod’s product catalog, capabilities, and

differentiators.

2) Lead Generation and Qualification

- Generate inbound/outbound leads via calls, emails, social channels, events, and online

research.

- Qualify leads based on predefined criteria (need, authority, timeline, budget) and

document qualification status in the CRM.

- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through consistent outreach and lead

nurturing.

3) Outreach and Engagement

- Execute multi-channel outreach campaigns to engage prospective clients (education

institutions, districts, DOE facilities, etc.).

- Schedule introductory meetings and product demonstrations in coordination with the

BDM and/or relevant cross-functional teams.

- Develop tailored messaging and value propositions for target segments.

4) CRM Management and Documentation

- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all contacts, leads, opportunities, and activities

in the CRM (e.g., HubSpot or equivalent).

- Capture key buyer information, next steps, and status updates; ensure data hygiene and

timely follow-ups.

5) Proposal Support and Collaboration

- Assist in the development of proposals and quotes under supervision, ensuring accuracy

and alignment with customer needs.

- Coordinate with engineering, production, and logistics teams to gather inputs for quotes

and project scopes as needed.

6) Relationship Building and Stakeholder Management

- Build and sustain relationships with potential clients and key stakeholders within target

organizations.

- Represent NextMod at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to expand visibility

and generate new leads.

- Coordinate with Marketing to align campaigns with field activities and market needs.

7) Project Coordination Support

- Support internal teams in pre-sales and post-sales phases to ensure smooth handoffs

and timely project delivery.

- Track project timelines and communicate status updates to relevant parties.

8) Performance Tracking and Reporting

- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as lead generation, conversion rates,

pipeline velocity, and revenue impact.

- Provide regular reporting and insights to the BDM and Sales leadership to inform strategy

and adjustments.

9) Compliance, Confidentiality, and Ethics

- Adhere to company policies, data privacy guidelines, and ethical sales practices.

- Protect confidential information, trade secrets, and client data.

10) Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Operations to ensure alignment on

opportunities and customer needs.

- Share market feedback and customer insights to drive continuous improvement in

offerings and messaging.

Contextual Activities (as defined in NextMod materials)

- Networking at industry events and regional activities to build a network of contacts.

- Participation in internal training and development programs to enhance product

knowledge and sales skills.

- Collaboration on CRM process improvements and sales enablement materials.

Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred;

relevant experience may be substituted).

- Experience: 1–3 years in business development, sales, or a related role; prior experience

in modular buildings, construction, real estate, or educational products is preferred.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written).

operations).

- Analytical mindset with capability to perform market and competitive analyses.

- Proficiency with CRM software (HubSpot or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail.

- Travel: Willingness and ability to travel as required (regional and occasional overnight

trips).

advancing opportunities.

(administrators, procurement officers, engineers, etc.).

- Collaboration: Effective cross-functional teamwork to advance opportunities.

- CRM and Data Hygiene: Maintains clean data, accurate forecasts, and timely updates.

- Results Orientation: Consistently meets or exceeds lead generation and pipeline targets.

Performance Metrics (examples; can be tailored to actual targets)

- Number of qualified leads generated per month.

- Conversion rate from lead to opportunity.

- Pipeline coverage and velocity (weekly/monthly).

- Meetings scheduled and demos delivered.

- Contribution to quarterly/annual revenue targets as part of the BDM’s team goals.

- CRM data quality and prospect engagement metrics (email opens, responses, etc.).

Reporting and Career Path

- This role reports to the assigned Business Development Manager.

- Pathways may lead to Senior Business Development roles or leadership positions within

the sales/BD function based on performance and business needs.

Pay: $70,000.00 per year
