Full Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Assist individuals with disabilities learn the skills required to obtain employment including writing resumes and cover letters, completing job applications and interview preparation. Attend interviews and coordinate employment training. Teach individuals how to successfully navigate the workplace and learn jobs through tasks analysis and on-the-job skill development as well as cultivating strong relations with business owners and management.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

Must be a highly motivated self-starter able to work independently in the community and problem solve in the absence of a supervisor.
Strong professional writing skills including creating resumes and cover letters to develop employment leads and secure job placement opportunities. Additionally, daily professionally written documentation is required.
Work in various job locations with program participants to teach job-specific tasks and skills through intensive job training with the goal of achieving job stabilization. Utilize creative problem-solving skills and multiple approaches during the intensive teaching phase.
Conduct job and task analysis and develop a support plan to achieve participant job stabilization.
Liaise with community businesses to develop employment leads and secure job placement opportunities and clearly articulate the role of on-site support for clients.
Obtain a baseline on the individual’s work skills and collect progress data.
Obtain the necessary support services and provide the appropriate follow up services to maintain successful job placement.
Maintain regular, frequent communication with clients and their workplace supervisors.
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with site supervisors and co-workers.
Participate in team meetings, intakes, and other meetings as required.
Complete written documentation as requested and in compliance with requirements of funding sources in a professional and timely manner.
Strong computer skills including MS Word and Excel
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Cooperate with inspections, investigations and inquiries conducted by The Arc of Monmouth and/or by The New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities and The New Jersey Department of Human Services.
