Full Job Description

Description

Responsible for the billing processes related to medical accounts receivable of the company. Proactively work with others in the department, insurance carriers and patients to maximize accurate and timely payments. Follows all company policies and applicable laws and regulations regarding the billing and collections of medical claims and patient balances.

Hours

Full-time, Mon- Fri, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Location

Honolulu, Oahu

Pay$22 an hour, With great benefits

Responsibilities

Review and verify patient registration, insurance, and eligibility information.
Review, post, and reconcile charges received from the coding company.
Submit medical claims electronically and via paper billing as required.
Identify, correct, and resubmit billing errors to insurance carriers.
Post insurance payments and contractual adjustments accurately in the billing system.
Review remittance advice to identify denials, underpayments, and payment discrepancies; initiate appeals when necessary.
Document all findings and actions taken on billing accounts.
Post patient payments and send reminders for overdue accounts.
Follow up on assigned accounts receivable to ensure timely resolution.
Prepare and submit accounts to third-party collection agencies when appropriate.
Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Provide courteous and professional assistance to patients, visitors, coworkers, and management in person and by phone.
Perform other duties as assigned to support billing, collections, and office operations.

Qualifications

Prior experience in medical billing preferred.
Knowledge of insurance billing processes, claims submission, and A/R follow-up.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Effective communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
