Company Overview

Kailua Physical Therapy Clinic is a dedicated outpatient facility located in Windward Oahu, specializing in personalized rehabilitation and physical therapy services. Our team is committed to providing high-quality care tailored to each patient's unique needs, fostering recovery and well-being within a supportive environment.

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant / Physical Therapy Aide to join our dynamic team. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in a clinical setting while supporting patient care and clinic operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a compassionate attitude, and an interest in physical therapy.

Duties

Front office: answer multi-line phones, schedule patients, collect copays, verify insurance benefits, collect documentation of patient intake information while respecting patient confidentiality at all times, read and address business emails, open mail and prepare bills for owner to pay, prepare daily bank deposit for owner, scan EOB's and email to the medical biller, log payroll hours and email the owner with hours daily, monitor supplies in the front office and in the back office and email owner when supplies are low, assist with retro authorizations for insurance coverage, and assist in gathering medical records for attorneys/courts/patients. Some medical office experience is preferred.
Back office: Assist physical therapists with patient preparation, set up treatment areas, utilize various modalities as directed by the physical therapist, ensure proper equipment is ready for use, assist patients on/off treatment tables and in/out of the front door if needed, ensure cleanliness and sanitation of treatment areas. Will train for physical therapy aide duties.
Front and back office: communicate effectively with patients, staff, and doctor offices, answer questions, and foster a welcoming atmosphere.

Experience

Prior experience working in an outpatient setting, Dr office, or hospital is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of medical terminology enhances effectiveness in this role but is not required.
