Outside Sales Representative – Commercial HVAC Systems

Location: New England Territory (MA, NH, ME, VT, RI, CT)

Reports To: Director of Operations & Sales

Position Summary

MUST RESIDE IN NEW ENGLAND. Boston area preferred.

Tower Hill Sales is seeking a motivated, technically oriented Outside Sales Representative to develop and grow the company's commercial HVAC product portfolio throughout New England. This role will start as base salary plus commission for exceeding target, leading to a 100% commission structure. This role is responsible for driving specifications, developing relationships with consulting engineers, mechanical contractors, building owners, facility managers, and distributors, and driving sales of high-efficiency boilers, water heating equipment, hydronic systems, heat exchangers, and control solutions.

The successful candidate will serve as a trusted technical advisor throughout the design, specification, bidding, construction, and post-installation phases of commercial HVAC projects.

Primary Responsibilities

Engineering & Specification Development

Develop relationships with consulting engineers and mechanical design firms.
Promote commercial HVAC, boiler, hydronic heating, domestic hot water, and heat transfer solutions.
Assist engineers with equipment selection, sizing, control strategies, and specification development.
Conduct Lunch & Learn presentations and continuing education seminars.
Identify projects early in the design phase and position Tower Hill Sales' manufacturers as the basis of design.

Contractor & Owner Development

Build strong relationships with mechanical contractors and design-build firms.
Support contractors with equipment selection, application guidance, startup coordination, and troubleshooting.
Work with building owners, facility engineers, healthcare systems, universities, municipalities, and commercial building operators to identify retrofit and replacement opportunities.
Promote energy-efficient system solutions and lifecycle value.

Sales & Business Development

Develop and execute a territory business plan to achieve annual sales objectives.
Maintain an active pipeline of projects from design through equipment startup.
Identify and pursue new specification opportunities across healthcare, education, commercial office, industrial, hospitality, government, and multifamily markets.
Coordinate with Tower Hill Sales' inside sales team to ensure timely quotations and project follow-up.
Collaborate with distributor partners to maximize market penetration.

Product Expertise

Develop a strong technical understanding of the company's commercial HVAC product offerings, including:

High-efficiency commercial boilers
Domestic hot water systems
Hydronic heating equipment
Heat exchangers
System controls and sequencing
Building automation integration
Energy-efficient retrofit solutions
Territory Management
Schedule and conduct >10 customer meetings each week.
Maintain an organized territory call schedule.
Document customer interactions, project activity, and sales opportunities in ACT CRM.
Travel throughout the assigned New England territory.

Qualifications

Minimum three years of commercial HVAC, hydronics, boiler, mechanical equipment, or commercial plumbing sales experience preferred.
Strong understanding of commercial mechanical systems.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical plans and specifications.
Excellent presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management abilities.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout New England.

Preferred Experience

Experience with one or more of the following:

Commercial boilers
Hydronic heating systems
Mechanical consulting engineers
Commercial HVAC equipment
Building automation systems (BAS)
Mechanical contracting
Healthcare, higher education, K-12, municipal, industrial, and commercial construction markets

Develop a robust project pipeline with measurable specification activity.
Achieve annual sales and gross profit objectives.
Increase market share within the assigned territory.
Deliver technical presentations that position Tower Hill Sales as a trusted HVAC resource.
Maintain timely CRM updates and accurate project forecasting.
Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, responsiveness, technical expertise, and exceptional customer service in every interaction.
