Full Job Description

PURPOSE

The Community Engagement & Outreach Coordinator sits at the intersection of business development, fundraising, community outreach and student recruitment. The primary function of this position is to serve as the public face of MTCHS, driving high-impact partnerships with local industry leaders to secure funding and equipment for campus expansion, while simultaneously executing marketing strategies to attract, engage, and recruit prospective students and families.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives direct supervision from the Charter Administrator or Administrative Designee. Works collaboratively with school administration, instructional staff, industry advisory boards, prospective families, and community stakeholders. Does not directly supervise other permanent staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Strategic Fundraising & Industry Partnerships

Identify, prospect, and engage local corporate partners, foundations, and community donors to secure financial contributions and grants for school facility expansion and seat growth.
Build and cultivate long-term relationships with Treasure Valley tech and business leaders to align fundraising goals with industry workforce needs.
Develop compelling sponsorship packages, pitch materials, and grant applications tailored to business leaders and grantmakers.
Maintain regular updates, impact reports, and recognition programs for existing partners and donors.

Marketing & Student Recruitment

Design and execute an annual student recruitment campaign across West Ada school district to maintain a robust, diverse applicant pipeline.
Organize and host campus tours, info nights, open houses, and visits to feeder middle schools to engage prospective students and parents.
Produce engaging digital content (social media, newsletter stories, website updates, and facility expansion progress reports) and printed marketing collateral to highlight student success stories and school programs.
Support prospective families through the charter application and lottery process, ensuring high conversion from inquiry to application.

Events & Public Relations

Represent MTCHS at local career fairs, chamber of commerce meetings, and workforce development events.
Lead planning and execution for major milestone events related to facility expansion (e.g., donor appreciation dinners, expansion groundbreaking/ribbon-cutting ceremonies).
Perform all duties in accordance with District/School policies, safety guidelines, and workplace expectations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of:

Principles and practices of fundraising, corporate sponsorships, grant writing, and donor stewardship.
Modern marketing and communication strategies, including social media management, email campaigns, and brand development.
The local Treasure Valley business landscape and workforce development needs in technical fields (IT, computer science, engineering).
Enrollment, recruitment, and public relations processes within K-12 or charter school environments.

Ability to:

Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with executive-level corporate leaders, community members, parents, and adolescent students.
Deliver engaging, persuasive presentations and pitch proposals to potential financial sponsors.
Establish and maintain positive, professional, and cooperative working relationships with staff, partners, and the public.
Work independently, manage complex projects simultaneously, set task priorities, and meet critical deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, or related field (or equivalent practical experience) required.
Minimum of three (3) years of successful experience in fundraising, sales, community relations, corporate sponsorships, or educational recruitment preferred.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for regional travel around the Treasure Valley area required.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
Full-time, 12-month exempt position.
Participating employer in the Public Employee Retirement System of Idaho (PERSI) with standard employer contribution rates.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL ABILITIES
