Full Job Description

An established Boise-based tax and accounting firm is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to manage full-cycle bookkeeping for a dedicated portfolio of 8–10 small-to-medium business clients. This position offers a highly flexible, hybrid schedule requiring just one consistent day per week in our Boise office for team collaboration and document scanning, with the remaining hours completed remotely.

Key Responsibilities

Full-Cycle Accounting: Maintain clean, accurate books for 8–10 distinct clients using cloud accounting software.
Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank, credit card, and loan data reconciliations.
Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process vendor bills, manage client invoicing, and track aging collections.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and deliver monthly balance sheets, P&L statements, and cash flow updates for firm review.
Client Communication: Serve as the primary, professional point of contact for minor bookkeeping questions and data gathering.
Sales Tax: Compile local and state sales tax filings where required.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience: 2+ years of professional bookkeeping experience, ideally within a multi-client CPA or accounting firm environment.
Software: Advanced proficiency with cloud accounting platforms like QuickBooks Online (QBO), Xero, or Wave is strictly required. Receipt management tool experience (e.g., Dext, Hubdoc) is a plus.
Proactive Management: Proven capability to independently balance priorities and deadlines for multiple business accounts without missing details.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for direct client interaction.
Location: Must reside within commuting distance of Boise, ID, to fulfill the weekly 1-day in-office requirement.

Schedule & Benefits

Flexible part-time hours scheduled between Monday and Friday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM).
Hybrid structure: 1 mandatory collaborative day in the office; remaining days remote.
Growth opportunity to transition into a full-time role if client volume expands.

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
