Job Summary

Join our dynamic team as a Dog Groomer, where your passion for animals and exceptional grooming skills will shine! In this energetic role, you will provide top-quality grooming and pet care services that leave our furry clients looking and feeling their best. Your expertise in handling dogs of all breeds and temperaments will ensure a positive experience for pets and their owners alike. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to combine your love for animals with a rewarding career in pet styling and care.

Responsibilities

Perform pet grooming services including bathing, brushing, hair trimming, pet coat styling, nail trimming, and ear cleaning to meet each pet’s specific needs.
Handle dogs safely using animal restraint techniques and animal handling skills to ensure comfort and safety during grooming sessions.
Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming preferences, provide updates, and offer pet care advice.
Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, including sanitizing tools and equipment after each use.
Assist with pet care tasks such as feeding, walking, or administering medications if required, demonstrating veterinary technician or assistant experience.
Recognize signs of health issues or distress in animals and refer to veterinary professionals when necessary.
Support kennel duties or pet sitting responsibilities as needed, including heavy lifting of animals or supplies.

Qualifications

Proven experience in pet grooming, including pet coat styling and pet nail trimming.
Strong dog handling skills with the ability to manage animals of various sizes and temperaments confidently.
Knowledge of animal restraint techniques and animal handling best practices.
Background in veterinary experience, veterinary technician work, or veterinary assistant roles is highly desirable.
Familiarity with animal care procedures such as pet sitting, kennel management, or equine experience is a plus.
Excellent communication skills for engaging with pet owners professionally and compassionately.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when necessary for animal or equipment handling.
Prior experience in customer service within a pet care environment is preferred.
Mandatory 2 years experience as a professional dog groomer is required.
