Full Job Description

URGENT: Experienced Caregiver Needed ASAP – Columbia, SC

High-Priority Client • Immediate Start • Monday–Friday Morning Schedule

From The Heart Home Care is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and confident caregiver to provide exceptional in-home care for a high-priority client in Columbia, SC.

This client requires a caregiver who can provide reassurance, encouragement, and consistency while maintaining a calm but confident approach to care. We are looking for someone who is loving, dependable, patient, and appropriately firm when providing safe assistance and encouraging independence.

Schedule

Monday – Friday

Morning Shifts – 4 Hours Per Day

20 Hours Per Week

Client Needs & Responsibilities

Provide full assistance with personal care and activities of daily living
Assist a bedbound client with repositioning and transfers using safe body mechanics
Provide encouragement and reassurance during mobility and personal care tasks
Support a client who experiences occasional cognitive confusion and memory changes
Help reduce fear and anxiety during transfers by remaining calm, patient, and confident
Prepare light meals and assist with hydration
Light housekeeping and laundry related to the client's care
Medication reminders as directed
Monitor for changes in condition and communicate concerns promptly
Provide meaningful companionship while promoting dignity and independence

What We're Looking For

Professional caregiving experience strongly preferred
Experience caring for bedbound or limited-mobility clients preferred
Experience working with clients experiencing memory loss or cognitive impairment preferred
Physically able to safely assist with transfers and mobility
Calm under pressure with excellent problem-solving skills
Loving, compassionate, and patient while remaining confident and appropriately firm
Dependable and reliable—attendance is critical
Strong communication skills
Must have a reliable personal vehicle
Uber, Lyft, taxis, and other ride-share services do not qualify
Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance required
Must be a South Carolina resident
Ability to pass a background check
