Full Job Description

V&S Galvanizing, LLC has over 100 years of experience in Hot Dip Galvanizing, and we are the leader in the steel coating industry. Today we operate over 9 galvanizing plants in the U.S., featuring exceptional service to small fabricators as well as companies known worldwide.

We are currently searching for an outstanding individual for our Logistics & Customer Support Specialist position at our Perth Amboy, NJ facility – V&S Amboy Galvanizing. The Logistics & Customer Support Specialist serves as a key liaison between customers, sales, production, shipping, and receiving operations to ensure orders and shipments are processed accurately and efficiently, inventory records remain current, and customers receive exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service & Order Support -

Serve as the primary point of contact for customers via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
Welcome customers to the facility and distribute release paperwork for material pickups.
Receive and resolve customer inquiries, answer questions, and escalate complex issues when necessary.
Process customer orders, quotes, and purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
Coordinate with sales and production teams to ensure timely order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
Provide customers with order status updates, pickup information, and shipment details.
Maintain accurate customer records and order documentation within company systems.

Logistics & Operations Support -

Track and coordinate orders, shipments, and material movement to ensure accurate and timely processing.
Prepare and verify shipping documents to include identification tags and scale sheets.
Communicate with carriers, drivers, customers, and internal teams to support efficient operations.
Maintain accurate shipment tracking and logistics records and spreadsheets.

Inventory & Administrative Support -

Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with inventory transactions and reconciliations.
Track incoming and outgoing materials and ensure all documentation is completed properly.
Perform data entry and maintain information within ERP and business systems.
Support Hazardous Waste Shipping procedures in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Provide administrative support, including reporting, billing assistance, payment processing, pricing, and general office functions to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Qualifications & Requirements -

High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service, logistics, shipping and receiving, inventory control, office administration, or a related field.
Experience in manufacturing, distribution, transportation, logistics, or industrial environments preferred.
Experience with Navision a PLUS.
Strong computer skills with high proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data entry.
Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers, drivers, carriers, managers, and production personnel.
Ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced team environment.
