Maintenance Machinist

Pay: $22.00–$32.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time | Onsite | Philadelphia, PA
Schedule: 40-hour workweek | Overtime opportunities | Day and Night Shift Available

Southwark Metal Manufacturing Company is seeking a skilled Maintenance Machinist / Tool & Die Maker to join our Philadelphia Division. In this hands-on, onsite position, you’ll use manual and automated equipment to produce, maintain, sharpen, and repair precision parts and die tooling.

If you’re mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and enjoy solving problems with your hands, we’d like to hear from you!

What You’ll Do

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, samples, schematics, and work instructions to determine job specifications.
Plan the sequence of operations needed to complete machining and repair jobs efficiently.
Measure and mark materials accurately for cutting, machining, or shaping.
Set up and operate a variety of manual, semi-automated, and automated machines, including lathes, grinders, and related equipment.
Produce and repair precision components to required specifications.
Perform die tooling, sharpening, and repair.
Use precision measuring instruments, such as calipers and other inspection tools, to verify dimensions.
Perform routine machine maintenance and make minor repairs as needed.
Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Work independently while following established procedures and instructions.

What We’re Looking For

Previous experience as a Machinist, Tool & Die Maker, Maintenance Machinist, or similar role.
Experience operating and/or programming manual, semi-automated, or automated machine tools.
Experience with equipment such as lathes, grinders, and related machining equipment.
Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical drawings.
Proficiency with precision measuring tools and accurate measurement techniques.
Strong mathematical, mechanical, and analytical skills.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to troubleshoot problems and work effectively with minimal supervision.
Self-motivated, dependable, and able to follow directions.
Ability to safely handle and lift heavy materials and perform the physical requirements of the position.
Must be available to work any shift.
This is an onsite position at our Philadelphia facility.
