Full Job Description

Established & Growing Commercial Real Estate Management Company

An established and growing commercial real estate management company located in North Palm Beach County, Florida is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Commercial Property Accountant to join our team. This position is responsible for full-cycle accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial real estate properties.

The ideal candidate will have strong commercial property accounting experience, excellent organizational skills, Excel proficiency, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Verify monthly rent rolls and related Excel reporting
Prepare monthly preliminary financial statements and supporting schedules
Perform general ledger review and month-end close procedures
Prepare interim and custom client financial reports
Maintain monthly accounting spreadsheets, including: Tenant A/R and prepaid balances- Security deposit balances- Charges and receipts- Management fee calculations
Complete monthly bank reconciliations and verify end-of-month cash balances
Verify and enter tenant charges in Yardi
Review delinquency reports and post late fees
Maintain tenant abstracts and lease records in Yardi
Set up new tenants, process move-outs, and enter lease amendments in Yardi
Assist with annual property budgets and budget variance reporting
Prepare annual CAM reconciliations and reports
Update recurring charges and prior-year reconciliations in Yardi
Prepare annual adjusting journal entries following tax return completion
Post depreciation and amortization schedules
Process quarterly estimated tax payments for assigned entities
Calculate and invoice management and construction management fees
Supervise and support accounting support staff as needed
Review lease expirations and recurring rent chargesQualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
Minimum 3+ years of commercial property accounting experience required
Strong working knowledge of Yardi preferred
Experience with property management software
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Understanding of GAAP and commercial real estate accounting principles
Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently
