Full Job Description

Reports to Shift Supervisor

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: This position is responsible for setting tools, starting presses, answering operator call lights, and making sure each job is properly set-up before the production run begins.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: These are duties that the person holding this job MUST be able to perform. The company makes accommodations on request, if the accommodations are reasonable, and allow otherwise qualified applicants to perform these functions.

1. Understands and follows all company policies. Reads bulletin boards and pay check attachments for updates on information.
2. Attendance is very important.
3. Performs daily audits, to ensure set up verifications, process adjustment logs and other necessary documents are being completed as specified.
4. Ensures machine efficiency and shift utilization by promptly setting and processing molds. Makes sure all necessary equipment is ready.
5. Maintains proper operation methods, processing, communication, documentation and defect identification. Makes necessary adjustments to machines for production with consideration of engineering and quality guidelines, customer requirements and machine capability.
6. Communicates immediately with shift supervisor or other affected employees regarding any problems.
7. Complies with all safety guidelines associated with duties including machine lockout, use of a ladder for mounting machine and other applicable MIOSHA standards.
8. Sets tools following processes or established processes as needed.
9. Ensures proper department housekeeping by maintaining tools and accessory equipment (hoses, clamps, tool boxes, etc.) in their proper place.
10. Participates in either internal or external courses to develop or broaden processing or tool setting skills.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
1. 1-2 years experience in plastics manufacturing desired.
2. High school diploma or GED desired

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/TASKS/ABILITIES
1. Must have the ability to relate well with people at all levels in the company.
2. Knowledge of molding process, secondary operations and standard processes.
3. Ability to work well in demanding, fast paced environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Good hand/eye coordination.
2. Lifting up to 50 lbs.
3. Significant body flexing and twisting, bending
4. Long periods of time standing.
5. Ability to use tools necessary in production set-up and maintenance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Manufacturing setting, with a loud noise level.

Process Tech Expectations:

Communicate with out going staff.
Review schedule for upcoming jobs.
State and/or confirm tools are stated for upcoming changes.
Complete mold changes per Mattec and start up. Must wear hard hat and lock out machines.
Confirm cycle is running to standard. If not, notify supervisor.
Complete start-up paperwork and submit first shot to Quality Leader.
One set up is complete, clean/organize machine area: waterlines, airlines, clamps, bolts, etc.
Molds are placed back in the racks.
Daily mold maintenance sheets and PCL's are complete.
Answer alarms and trouble shoot as needed.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
