Salary Starting at: $4,711 per month
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

KC Water provides essential water, wastewater, and stormwater services to support the health, safety, and growth of the Kansas City region. The department is responsible for maintaining and operating extensive systems for water collection, treatment, and distribution, serving more than 170,000 residential and business customers, as well as regional partners. Responsibilities

What You'll Do:
Collect, organize, maintain, and synthesize departmental data, project records, and operational knowledge into clear, actionable information.
Develop and maintain centralized repositories for policies, procedures, project documentation, training materials, and operational resources.
Ensure critical business knowledge is documented, standardized, and accessible across teams to support continuity and consistency.
Identify knowledge gaps and partner with subject matter experts to capture and maintain essential business processes and operational guidance.
Develop, track, and report service-focused performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with departmental and organizational goals.
Collaborate with managers and supervisors to improve division-wide reporting processes and ensure transparency in operational performance.
Analyze trends, performance data, and customer service outcomes to support evidence-based recommendations and continuous improvement.
Prepare reports, dashboards, and summaries for leadership to support strategic planning and operational decision-making.
Process Improvement and Operational Support
Partner with division leadership to evaluate workflows, identify inefficiencies, and implement process improvements for quality and training.
Support asset management initiatives, technology implementations, and operational improvement projects that enhance utility services and customer experience.
Standardize document control processes, project closeout documentation, and technology-related records to ensure compliance and consistency.
Assist in developing and maintaining procedures related to customer service operations, training, quality assurance, and reporting.
Serve as a liaison between management, field supervisors, customer operations, and technical teams to ensure information is shared accurately and efficiently.
Facilitate collaboration across teams to align operational practices, reporting standards, and project documentation.
Support organizational change initiatives by ensuring employees have access to the tools, information, and training needed for successful implementation.
Supervise and support the Customer Experience team, including the Quality Assurance Coordinator, Customer Experience Trainers, and administrative staff.
Provide direction, coaching, and performance management to ensure staff are meeting service, training, and quality objectives.
Oversee the development and delivery of training materials, quality monitoring programs, and customer experience initiatives.
Ensure administrative and support functions within the team are organized, effective, and aligned with division priorities.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and service excellence.

Qualifications

REQUIRES:
an accredited Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of professional experience in business or public sector administration to include at least 2 years performing administrative and/or supervisory work involving more complex projects or programs
OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience with at least 2 years performing administrative and/or supervisory work involving more complex projects or programs.
Preference given for applicants with professional development curriculum creation, needs assessment analysis experience, training experience and KWIC knowledge.

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
