Pinnacle Staffing Group is partnering with a growing and collaborative organization in Lenexa, KS to find a talented Tax Associate who is passionate about accuracy, problem-solving, and helping deliver exceptional client service.

What You'll Do

As a Tax Associate, you'll play a key role in ensuring every tax return meets the highest standards of quality, compliance, and accuracy while supporting both clients and fellow tax professionals.

Your Responsibilities

Review individual, business, and entity tax returns for accuracy, completeness, and compliance

Identify errors, inconsistencies, and tax-saving opportunities while providing constructive feedback to tax preparers

Verify that all required documentation is complete and properly supported before filing

Assist with IRS notices and inquiries, helping resolve issues accurately and efficiently

Partner with tax preparers and team members to improve processes and elevate overall quality

Communicate tax concepts and recommendations clearly and professionally with clients when needed

Support the team by sharing knowledge of tax software, best practices, and efficient workflows

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

3–5 years of tax preparation and/or tax review experience

Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations

Excellent analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail

Strong communication skills and the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience

Experience reviewing both individual and business tax returns

Familiarity with tax preparation software and accounting systems such as QuickBooks

CPA or EA designation—or actively pursuing one—is highly encouraged
