Full Job Description

Summary: The Patient Access Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the department to include work performance, workflow, and process improvement. Work is performed under the general direction of the Director of Operations. The Patient Access Manager will guide the department in providing excellent customer service as well as the highest quality experience for our patients. This role requires attention to detail, exceptional time management, and a proactive leadership approach.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

· Manages patient access staff on a daily basis for adherence to policies, procedures and processes

· Facilitates the coordination of workflow throughout the department to ensure day to day operations are performed

· Maximizes the patient experience and access to services provided by the NWMS. -Responsible for implementing procedures and processes to promote excellent customer experiences

· Responsible for staff development, including training, reviews of progress and communication of findings

· Monitors staff performance and productivity

· Ensure highest quality of information obtained, recorded, and sent to outside parties in keeping with HIPAA regulations

· Generates and reviews reports to monitor and improve productivity and efficiency

· Displays leadership qualities and compliance with company policies

· Maintains a professional approach respecting the dignity and confidentiality of patients and employees

· Works with the Director of Operations to resolve any issues relating to staff performance, unusual and significant issues that may affect patient satisfaction, timeliness of services or reimbursement or general patient flow.

· Attends staff and leadership meetings as scheduled

· Performs all other duties, as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does have supervisory responsibilities. They supervise the Patient Access staff, including the Patient Access Assistant Manager and the Patient Access Supervisor.

Education/Experience:

· High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

· Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in a healthcare-related field preferred, or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Previous supervisory/management is required
