Full Job Description

Location: Remote, Field-Based (California/Nevada/Arizona territory)

Work Setting: Remote, field-based territory

Compensation/OTE: $135,000–$150,000 (base salary + commissions)

Ramp Support: 50% of growth commission guaranteed during the first six months

Position Summary

A leading manufacturer of metal building components is seeking a Territory Sales Manager to drive business development and account growth across an established multi-state territory. The current territory includes California, Arizona, and Nevada, with today's primary focus centered on California's Central Valley and Sacramento markets. As the business continues to grow, territory assignments may evolve based on business needs and market opportunities.

This is a true hunter-farmer role that combines new business development with strategic account management. Success comes from spending time in front of customers, developing trusted relationships, identifying new opportunities, and expanding product penetration throughout a well-established territory.

The ideal candidate is an experienced outside sales professional who enjoys managing a large territory, thrives in a relationship-driven sales environment, and understands the building products, metal building, or construction materials industry.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and grow sales throughout the Central California and Sacramento territory
Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities while expanding existing customer relationships
Manage relationships with manufacturers, distributors, contractors, OEMs, and building product customers
Increase share of wallet by introducing customers to a broad portfolio of building products
Quote pricing, negotiate opportunities, and coordinate with internal customer service and sales support teams
Maintain disciplined territory planning and prioritize high-value customer opportunities
Resolve customer issues while delivering exceptional service and responsiveness
Travel extensively throughout the territory to conduct in-person customer visits
Attend trade shows, customer meetings, and industry events as needed
Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to support business growth initiatives

Required Qualifications

Proven success in outside or territory sales
Experience managing a large geographic sales territory
Demonstrated ability to develop new business while maintaining existing customer relationships
Experience selling into the construction, building products, metal building, or related industries
Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment
Ability and willingness to travel up to approximately 70%
Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory
