Full Job Description

We're seeking a detail-oriented Client Accounting Specialist to provide high-quality accounting and bookkeeping support to a portfolio of clients. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a virtual environment, enjoys building client relationships, and has strong experience with QuickBooks Online.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting functions for multiple clients
Maintain bank and credit card activity within the general ledger
Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll as needed
Prepare and post journal entries and accurately categorize transactions
Perform account reconciliations
Assist with preparing financial statements and management reports
Communicate regularly with clients, serving as a trusted resource for accounting-related questions
Meet deadlines while managing multiple client priorities
Participate in team meetings and collaborate with colleagues to ensure exceptional client service
Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications

Associate degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks Online
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Experience with cloud-based accounting and document management software is a plus
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and adapt to changing client needs
Professional, collaborative, and client-focused approach
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment
This position does require occasional onsite visits to Greater Portland area in Maine.
