Full Job Description

Cortex Residential is seeking a Service Coordinator to support residents at multiple affordable rental apartment communities in Eastern Pennsylvania. This role is focused on connecting residents with appropriate community resources and supportive services while helping promote resident independence, housing stability, and overall quality of life.

Responsibilities

Serves as a resource and point of contact for residents seeking supportive services, community resources, and assistance programs.
Assesses resident needs and connects residents with appropriate local, state, federal, and nonprofit programs and service providers.
Develops and maintains relationships with community organizations, healthcare providers, social service agencies, transportation providers, and other organizations that provide resources to residents.
Provides residents with information and referrals related to healthcare, transportation, food assistance, financial assistance, benefits, and other supportive services.
Assists residents in understanding and accessing available benefits and assistance programs.
Coordinates educational, wellness, social, and other programs designed to support residents and strengthen the community.
Conducts resident outreach to identify needs and increase awareness and utilization of available services.
Advocates for residents when appropriate and assists residents in navigating community resources and service providers.
Maintains appropriate records and documentation of resident interactions, referrals, programs, and services provided.
Prepares and maintains reports related to Service Coordinator activities as required by Cortex Residential and applicable regulatory agencies.
Maintains resident confidentiality and handles sensitive information in an appropriate and professional manner.
Works collaboratively with Property Management to identify residents who may benefit from additional services or resources.
Assists residents experiencing challenges that may impact their ability to maintain stable housing by connecting them with appropriate resources.
Helps foster a safe, supportive, and engaged community for residents.

Additional Responsibilities

Assists with various resident services, community engagement, and Property management-related initiatives as they arise.

Requirements

Exceptional interpersonal skills, empathy, and attention to detail.
Previous experience in social services, resident services, case management, affordable housing, senior services, or a related field preferred.
Knowledge of community resources and social service programs is preferred.
Ability to establish and maintain relationships with residents, community organizations, and service providers.
Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality when working with residents.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize appropriately in a constantly changing environment and act with a sense of urgency and accountability.
Highly driven and values entrepreneurialism; works well within ambiguity.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
Experience working within affordable housing or with HUD programs is ideal, but not required.
