Preschool Director

A Faith-Based Early Childhood Education Center

The Role

We're looking for an experienced Center Director to lead both the mission and the business side of our school - someone who's comfortable owning enrollment, budget, staffing, and retention, while also bringing a personal Christian faith that shapes how they lead. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll be trusted with the numbers and the building, not just the day-to-day culture.

What You'll Own

Enrollment & Growth — Help drive enrollment toward and beyond capacity by managing the tour-to-enrollment pipeline and responding to prospective family inquiries in a timely way
Budget & Financial Performance — Own the Center's budget and tuition billing, keeping an eye on financial performance alongside day-to-day operations
Staffing & Retention — Recruit, hire, and support a strong teaching team; manage schedules, staffing ratios, and turnover with intention
Compliance & Risk — Ensure continuous compliance with Florida DCF and DOH regulations, maintain accurate staff and student files, and protect the Center's licensing standing
People Leadership — Develop your leadership team, address performance issues with care, and build a culture staff and families can feel

Who We're Looking For

The ideal candidate has a strong, established track record of running and growing a Center - someone comfortable thinking about enrollment, budget, and staffing with a business mindset, while leading people with genuine warmth and care.

Faith is central to who we are, and it naturally comes up as part of our conversations during the interview process. We share this early so it's clear from the start. Beyond that, we're looking for someone who:

Thinks like a business owner about enrollment, margins, and staffing costs
Genuinely loves children and shows it in how they lead a building, not just how they manage it
Sees their work as ministry as much as operations
Is energetic, highly organized, and detail-oriented, with a caring attitude toward faculty and parents
Has 3+ years of recent experience leading a Center of 100+ students, including budget ownership and managing staff and teachers
Leads as a team player — present, approachable, and invested in the growth of the people around them

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day operations of the Center, including enrollment, budget, and staffing outcomes
Supervise all staff, maintain up-to-date employee and student files and billing, and ensure continuous compliance with the Florida Dept. of Health
Support enrollment growth and retention; conduct parent tours and manage incoming inquiries from prospective families
Oversee the hiring process and orientation for new staff, and support staff retention over time
Oversee the contract with the Early Learning Coalition of PBC for VPK and School Readiness Programs
Invest in the leadership development of faculty
Communicate with strong leadership, interpersonal, verbal, and writing skills in English (Spanish bilingual is a plus)
Maintain working knowledge of the School Readiness Program through ELC and strong knowledge of Florida DCF and DOH rules and regulations for child care centers

Qualifications

3+ years of Center Leadership experience, including direct accountability for enrollment, budget, and staffing (required)
Florida Director's Credential (required)
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (strongly preferred)
A personal, active Christian faith that shapes how you lead and connect with others
