Full Job Description

Are you an experienced CNC machinist who enjoys leading others? FK Instrument is hiring a Lead CNC Machinist for our 2nd shift to oversee CNC milling operations and support a team of operators in producing high-quality parts.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support a team of CNC machinists by delegating work and providing guidance
Train and coach new hires on company policies, procedures, and machining practices
Set up and operate CNC mill machines using setup sheets and written instructions
Inspect parts to ensure conformance to specifications and make necessary machine adjustments
Troubleshoot programming, machine operation, and manufacturing issues
Promote and maintain a safe work environment
Monitor labor entries and productivity
Read and interpret blueprints, job packets, and work orders
Organize tooling and materials during machine cycles to reduce setup and cycle time
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency while maintaining quality
Serve as a technical resource for machining operations
Communicate effectively with operators, supervisors, and other departments
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and GD&T
7+ years of experience setting up and operating CNC machining centers (3-axis, 4-axis, 5-axis, and horizontal)
Ability to edit and troubleshoot CNC machinery
Preferred control experience: Fanuc
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
