Job Role:

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

Prepares the patient for exams and procedures.
Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets and physicians' instructions to patients.
Administers medications including all types of injections, IV therapy as needed, nebulizer treatments, EKG's, PFT's, nursing care within the scope of licensure.
Provide basic patient care and treatments, such as but not limited to: dressing wounds, performing catheterizations, post procedure care.
Must have strong IV skills, phlebotomy, and triage skills.
Collects, labels and processes specimens accurately/Phlebotomy.
Clean and prepare medical treatment rooms for patient visits.
Assemble and use equipment appropriately to specific medical practice.
Ability to communicate with patients and their families, providers, and other staff members.
Enters patient information into the computer accurately and in a timely manner.
Ability to triage patients appropriately via phone or in office.
Understanding of common medications used and prescribed.
Establishes and maintains effective working relations with other departments.
Training of clinical staff, specific to Medical Assistants
Observes OneHealth Primary Care policies and procedures with regard to attendance, punctuality and appropriate use of sick leave and vacation as well as maintaining a professional appearance.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supports effort to comply with HIPAA, confidentiality and security requirements.
Provides a professional role model for other personnel in performance of duties.
Empty and track tasks in EMR, ability to multitask.

Required Qualifications

Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Florida
Strong computer skills, EMR experience
Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal
2 years experience in a medical office preferred
IV Certified with Proficient IV skills
Assessment Skills/telephonic assessment skills

Job Type:

Full-time, Monday thru Friday--7:45 AM - 5:00PM

Required license or certification:

Must have current and unrestricted license to practice as an LPN in the state of Florida

Must have IV certification

Required education:

Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse Program

Travel: 90% Pinellas/10% Pasco County
