Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to join our growing construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive electrical project estimates, analyzing construction drawings, and collaborating with clients and project teams to ensure bids are competitive and aligned with project specifications. Your expertise will help drive successful project planning, cost control, and execution across diverse electrical systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale construction projects while utilizing your technical skills and industry knowledge to deliver exceptional results.

Duties

Review and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to accurately estimate material quantities, labor costs, and overall project expenses.
Utilize estimating software McCormick to develop detailed cost estimates for electrical systems in commercial, industrial, or institutional projects.
Conduct thorough analysis of electrical building codes (including NEC standards) and NFPA 70 compliance requirements to ensure all estimates meet regulatory standards.
Collaborate with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams through negotiation to secure favorable pricing on materials and subcontractor services.
Manage project budgets by monitoring costs throughout the bidding process and during project execution, ensuring adherence to financial targets.
Review construction contracts and scope of work documents to identify potential risks or cost-saving opportunities.
Assist in construction site visits when necessary for material take-offs or clarification of scope details.
Maintain accurate records of all estimates, pricing data, and client communications for future reference and continuous improvement.

Experience

Proven experience in electrical estimating within the construction industry, with a strong understanding of electrical systems, blueprint reading, and schematic interpretation.
Familiarity with estimating software McCormick is essential.
Knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code), NFPA 70 standards, electrical building codes, and safety regulations related to electrical installations.
Construction management experience including review of construction drawings, cost management, material cost estimating, and project budgeting.
Strong negotiation skills for securing competitive pricing with suppliers and subcontractors.
Demonstrated ability to read electrical blueprints accurately and interpret electrical schematics effectively.
Prior experience working on construction sites or in a construction management capacity is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills for client interaction, team collaboration, and contract negotiations.
