Role Overview

This position offers a dynamic blend of responsibilities that extend beyond a traditional Medical Assistant role, emphasizing clinical support and patient care in a cardiology setting as a Float Medical Assistant. The MA Care Team is supported by a robust call center staff, allowing team members to prioritize direct patient engagement. Responsibilities in this area include:

· Assisting with patient education on cardiac care, post-procedure instructions, and lifestyle modifications

· Supporting prescription refills and medication coordination under provider guidance

· Managing hospital consults, pre-procedure preparation, and post-procedure follow-ups

Key clinical responsibilities include:

· Managing the Cath Lab procedure schedule and preparing patients for procedures

· Coordinating outbound referrals and cardiac testing (e.g., EKGs, stress tests, Holter monitor applications, and echocardiograms)

· Assisting with cardiovascular studies, device checks (e.g., pacemakers), and supporting critical care team operations

Operational Support for Providers

The MA Care Team ensures providers can deliver efficient and effective care by focusing on:

· Preparing exam rooms and equipment for cardiology-specific procedures

· Maintaining accurate patient documentation, including updating electronic health records (EHRs) and assisting with clinical workflow efficiency

· Providing hands-on support during clinic visits, such as obtaining vitals, performing EKGs, point-of-care testing, and assisting with device interrogations

Qualifications

· Healthcare | Medical Experience is required

· Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is required for this position (on-the-job training in cardiology-specific procedures available for motivated candidates)

· Cardiology experience is preferred (familiarity with cardiac testing, procedural coordination, or cardiovascular studies is a plus)

· Spanish-speaking is a plus but not required

· Strong organizational and communication skills required

Work Location and Schedule

· Clinic Locations: Sun City, Sun City West, Surprise, Glendale

· Hours: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM [consistent schedule with no weekends or after-hours required]
