Full Job Description

Senior Bookkeeper (Real Estate & Construction)

Full-Time | In-Office | Galveston, TX

Salary: $65,000–$75,000

We are a real estate development and investment company with a portfolio of construction and rental entities. We are hiring a Senior Bookkeeper to own day-to-day accounting across a multi-entity structure and keep our books clean, accurate, and audit-ready.

This is a hands-on, in-office role for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and fully accountable. You should be comfortable working inside a fast-moving real estate and construction business, handling volume, and maintaining strict entity discipline.

Note: Our office is based in Galveston, TX, but if you live in nearby areas, you are welcome to apply as long as you are comfortable commuting or traveling to Galveston. Suggested locations include, but are not limited to, Houston, League City, Friendswood, Pearland, and Texas City.

What You’ll Own

Full-cycle bookkeeping across 15–18 LLCs
Daily transaction review and categorization across bank and credit card accounts
Monthly reconciliations with accurate real-time cash positions
Monthly close and preparation of clean internal financials
Intercompany accounting, including Due To / Due From
Payroll coordination, reimbursements, and documented allocations
Contractor payments, W-9 / 1099 tracking, and CPA support for year-end reporting
Construction draw and expense tracking by project and entity
Ongoing expense classification and fixed-asset / capital-improvement tracking
Maintaining clean records and strict entity separation across all companies
Working directly with ownership and outside CPAs

What Success Looks Like

Books are current, accurate, and organized at all times
Reconciliations are completed on time without loose ends
Intercompany balances are properly tracked and supported
Financial reports are clean and usable for decision-making
Errors are caught early and corrected quickly
No commingling, no guessing, and no surprises

Required Experience

5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience in at least one of the following:
Real estate development
Construction accounting
CPA firm experience serving real estate clients
Strong experience with multi-entity accounting
Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online
Solid understanding of:
Intercompany accounting
Job cost tracking
Contractor/vendor management
1099 preparation support
Capital improvements vs. repairs and maintenance
