Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. This vital role offers the opportunity to support a wide range of legal functions across various practice areas, including estate planning, environmental law, family law, litigation, and more. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating exceptional organizational skills, legal research expertise, and the ability to handle confidential information with integrity. Duties

Assist attorneys with case management, document review, and legal research using platforms such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, and iManage.
Prepare and draft legal documents including pleadings, contracts, correspondence, and reports with precision and clarity.
Manage client communications effectively, ensuring timely follow-up and professional interaction.
Organize and maintain filing systems both electronically and physically, ensuring easy retrieval of case files and legal documents.
Support procedural law compliance by tracking deadlines, court filings, and document submissions across multiple jurisdictions.
Conduct thorough legal research on diverse topics such as UCC law, tribal regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, and securities law to assist attorneys in case preparation.
Coordinate meetings, interviews (including client interviews), and project timelines to streamline workflow and ensure efficient case progression.
Handle confidential information with utmost discretion while supporting administrative tasks like scheduling and executive support.

Requirements

Proven paralegal or legal assistant experience within a law office environment.
Strong knowledge of procedural law, civil litigation support, and document management systems such as Word processing software, PCLaw, iManage, Westlaw, LexisNexis.
Familiarity with multiple practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, family law, landlord-tenant law, personal injury law (including personal injury case experience), securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, and workers' compensation law.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-moving setting.
Exceptional research skills utilizing legal databases like Westlaw and LexisNexis for comprehensive case analysis.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), document review tools, and electronic filing systems.
Strong written communication skills for drafting clear legal documents and correspondence.
Effective verbal communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
Attention to detail in proofreading legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with procedural standards.
Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
