Full Job Description

Job Overview
The Landscape & Garden Project Manager assists with design and planning tasks. This role primarily focuses on the specifics with meeting challenges prevalent with construction, excavation, equipment/material logistics and hardscaping. This role also supports teams and functions as the field manager for efficiency, quality control, and leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Sales & Communications:

Recognize potential opportunities and beneficial improvements and communicate these to the appropriate staff and clients as needed.

Site Analysis and Data Collection:

Performs field visits with or without project managers to collect data, meet clients, and assist in project planning.
Demonstrate understanding of the underlying principles that create a well-functioning landscape.
Measurement and data relevant to hardscaping, grading, and construction work.
Use of laser transit, tape measure, utility finding equipment, or other data collection tools.

Proposal Writing:

Communicate overall budget numbers to a client (pre-estimating).
Maintain spreadsheets or budget sheets for the client with some imagery on suggested materials.
Assist with procurement of samples, imagery, and examples of potential designs to share with client during the design phases.

Software:

Use word processing and Google applications to create, record, and share documents to team and clients.
Staying up-to-date on Estimate/Invoicing applications (QuickBooks Online, Excel/Spreadsheets).

Estimates/Invoicing:

Assist with creating accurate work outlines, material lists, and calculating associated costs.
Generate cohesive and trackable lists of information to share with the client.
Internal tracking for invoicing and communicating to teams in the field.
Reviews and assists (as needed) with creation of invoices to include all scheduling and client communications around invoicing timelines.

Scheduling:

Assist (when needed) with regular and timely scheduling of proposed and confirmed work through Nature Works shared Google Calendar.
Assist (when needed) in coordinating with other managers and staff regarding the use of equipment and vehicles for projects.
Assist in coordinating with subcontractors to ensure seamless workflow, accessibility and availability of materials, as needed.

Construction & Installation Documentation:

Assist with generating work orders and/or estimates.
Assist in communicating project details to construction and installation managers.
Assist with scheduling and ensuring quality control of project implementation.

Materials:

Acquisition and coordinating of materials for projects and shop inventory in a timely manner to ensure project efficiencies and availability.

Field Work:

Remain able and qualified to be onsite with team on all aspects.
Keep up with standards of installations of all in-progress projects.
Being available onsite on layout and installation days to ensure proper rollout of designs and also to trouble-shoot, and adjust as needed.
Remain flexible to adapting to all manner of changes due to unforeseen circumstances, weather and in-person aesthetic adjustments or changing desires of the client.

Management / Leadership:

Represent and guide Nature Works staff to embody our Company Culture.
Maintain a professional, positive, work environment.
Ensure work performed on-site is being done efficiently and in an organized way.

Supervisory Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in building effective and independent teams.
Oversee team training and progress, providing correction and guidance as needed.
Create training schedules for new hires as needed.
Assist in organizing the schedule one week in advance (via shared Google Calendar).
Completes work orders daily and goes over details with leaders and staff.
Reviews work orders at the end of the day prior to submitting them to the office for billing.
Upload visual documentation of job sites, creates client albums and uploads to Google Photos with completion of all jobs (as needed).

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Experience/Education:

2-5 years of construction, management, and field work required.
A diverse background included all aspects and varied landscape work from start to finish is highly desirable.
Experience in Leadership.

Professional Licensing (required):

DOT medical certificate (within 30 days of employment).
OSHA 10 certification (within 90 days of employment).
Hydraulics Operator License (within first six months of employment).

Professional Licensing(preferred):

Horticultural and ecological organic land care certificates, and related field certifications.

Software/Applications:

Google Email, Calendar, and Photo
Microsoft Word
QuickBooks Online
Excel spreadsheets

Required:

Valid driver’s license
Current insurance
Clean RMV record.
Employs excellent organizational and time-management skills around project planning.
Willingness to work in most weather conditions.
