Full Job Description

G. Eric Nielson and Associates is an established but growing high end boutique firm with a specialized practice in medical negligence. We are seeking a Spanish Speaking FULL-TIME paralegal. If you are a well-organized, creative, problem solver who enjoys the thrill of litigating complex medical cases and are sick of billable hours, then we want to talk to you. Experience over certifications. Talent and skill valued over degrees. This is an in-person position only, remote work is not an option.

Qualifications:

A minimum of two years of paralegal and one year of litigation experience required.
Ability to speak Spanish and English fluently.
Must be well-organized, detailed, and present well professionally.
Must have excellent client relations and interpersonal skills.
Must have strong writing and oral skills (in both Spanish and English)
Must be a self-starter, multi-tasker and have the ability to work well under deadlines.
Must have strong computer skills.
Must be a team player.
Must be dependable and accountable.
Must have dependable transportation.

Duties Include:

Manage caseload of medical malpractice cases directly, under the supervision of attorneys.
Prepare, draft, file and e-file notices of intent, complaints, discovery and pleadings - including requests for production, interrogatories, requests for admission, initial and supplemental disclosures, expert disclosures, dispositive motions, jury instructions, motions, memos, letters, etc.
Coordinate, organize and update calendars ensuring all case deadlines are strictly adhered to.
Communicate regularly and professionally with clients.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Perform other duties as directed.
Communicate and provide translation services for our Spanish speaking clients and potential clients.
