Full Job Description

Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Surgery Center Registered Nurse (RN), where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional perioperative care in a fast-paced outpatient surgical environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your diverse nursing skills, including sterile technique, patient assessment, and post-operative care, to ensure safe and efficient surgical procedures. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with surgeons, CRNA's, and support staff to provide high-quality patient care from pre-op preparation through recovery.

Duties

Prepare patients for surgery by conducting thorough assessments, reviewing medical histories, and ensuring proper documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
Monitor patient vital signs and physiological responses throughout perioperative stages, utilizing physiology knowledge to detect complications early.
Administer medications including IV fluids, eye drops, and PO medications when applicable, following strict medication administration protocols.
Provide comprehensive post-operative care by assessing recovery status, managing acute pain with appropriate interventions, and educating patients on discharge instructions.
Maintain infection control standards and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records while adhering to documentation standards for medical terminology and ICD coding.

Requirements

Valid RN license with current state certification; experience working in an outpatient or ambulatory surgery center preferred.
Valid BLS.
Proficiency in EHR charting systems; familiarity with medical documentation.
Knowledge of anesthesia support procedures, airway management, and acute pain management techniques.
Strong assessment skills with the ability to perform physical examinations.
Excellent communication skills for triage assessments, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Pay: $36.00 - $39.00 per hour
