About us

Culture is very important here at Livingston Veterinary Hospital. We are a tight knit group of like minded people and are excited to find a friendly and motivated individual to add to our team!

Duties and Responsibilites:
- Provide customer service including greeting clients, processing incoming patients, and handling payments.
- Answer phones and schedule appointments.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail and email.
- Update and maintain patient files.
- Restock pet food and OTC products such as supplements and grooming items.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the waiting room and reception area.
- Assist other team members with animal handling and restraint (as needed).
- Assist other team members with boarding animals including feeding and exercising (as needed).
Required Skills and Competencies:

- Compassion and Sensitivity: Ability to be sensitive to scared and sick pets, as well as the concerned owner.
- Customer Service: Ability to provide friendly, efficient service to clients in-person, as well as on the phone.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to feel comfortable dealing with clients and fellow staff. Must have a positive attitude and be willing to cooperate and coordinate with fellow staff members in order to be an efficient and effective team.
- Technology Skills: Ability to operate office technology including computers, fax machines, and scanners. Must have basic typing skills and be comfortable with Microsoft Word and Excel. Will be expected to navigate veterinary practice management software daily for scheduling, billing, and patient record keeping.
- Mental and Physical Stamina: Ability to stay calm when handling animals and communicating with clients. May be required stand for extended periods of time. May be required to assist other team members on the floor. Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage office operations such as taking messages, scheduling appointments, and maintaining patient files.
Appearance and Attire:

- Must maintain a professional appearance. Acceptable attire includes business casual and/or scrubs and close toed shoes.
The ideal candidate will strive to provide excellent customer service to clients and ensure that front desk operations run smoothly. They will be the primary greeter when a client enters the building, will have the first interactions with the patients, will alert the appropriate team member of the client's arrival, and will process client payments at the conclusion of the appointment. Good oral and written communication is a must to excel in this position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
