Full Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Manager

Gelato & Co. is one of the only authentic Gelaterias here in Colorado with a history dating back to the first ever modern-day Gelato machine. Gelato & Co. specializes in fresh Gelato, authentic coffee and artisanal pastries, while providing the highest quality service in a beautiful space. We have stores worldwide in such locations as Grand Cayman, Aruba, Panama, Puerto Rico, London, Italy and now locally-owned in Colorado. The company will be expanding rapidly and we are looking for people who are willing to grow with us!

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, friendly assistant manager to join our young company and become part of a fun atmosphere and positive team. You will be a great fit if you love working in an upbeat environment helping to lead our crew in serving delicious gelato, pastries, coffee and desserts made with some of the highest quality ingredients money can buy. We are looking for someone who can help maintain a well stocked and pristine serving area, delegate tasks to fellow employees during day-to-day activities and have a great time being part of a team while helping to serve customers. PAY:

Salaried + a share in the service fee on every transaction, totaling in the $50,000-$60,000 range

RESPONSIBILITIES

Keep track of in-store inventory and help maintain a well-stocked serving area with the necessary supplies for customers
Making sure employees are on-task and efficiently maintaining customer orders and a clean store front
Periodically make runs to our warehouse for supplies and non-perishable kitchen ingredients
Craft the schedule for hourly front-of-house staff
Greeting customers and helping them feel warm and welcome
Serve customers and handle cash and credit transactions
Follow Gelato & Co.'s operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety/security
Know the brand and menu items
Quickly and courteously handle all customer orders including gelato, coffee drinks and shakes
Check the gelato to make sure the quality and temperature is maintained to standards
Help maintain a clean shop in the kitchen as well as the dining area to ensure the space looks as good as our gelato tastes
Problem-solve to assist with customer concerns and complaints
Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
Perform closing duties such as closing out the register and counting cash tips

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS

High customer service skills are required
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Ability to lift ~50lbs and be on your feet during your shift
Team oriented, adaptable, dependable, and strong work ethic
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays

EDUCATION:

High school or equivalent preferred

EXPERIENCE

Previous service industry experience preferred
Previous barista experience is preferred but not required for coffee-serving

SCHEDULE:

Some flexibility; most shifts would be evenings, 1:30pm-9:30pm (close)
Wednesday-Sunday preferred
Five days/week including weekends

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
