Skipton Law is looking for a reliable, professional, and office-ready Front Office Assistant to help create a “WOW” first impression for our clients and support the daily flow of our estate planning law firm.
This is a client-facing administrative role in a fast-paced professional office. The right person does not need prior legal experience, but they must have prior office experience, be comfortable with basic workplace technology, and understand how a professional office functions.
Because this role requires reliability, professionalism, technology comfort, strong follow-through, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, compensation is $22–$24 per hour depending on experience and fit.
This is not an entry-level customer service position. We are looking for someone who can confidently operate in an office setting, communicate professionally, handle basic administrative tasks, and keep up with a busy team.
About the Role
As our Front Office Assistant, you will help make sure clients feel welcomed, cared for, and comfortable from the moment they walk through the door. You will also assist the team with basic office support tasks that help appointments run smoothly and keep the office organized.
This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys being helpful, takes pride in doing things correctly, and wants to be part of a high-accountability professional office.
This is not the right fit for someone who wants to do the bare minimum, needs repeated reminders, resists feedback, or is uncomfortable participating as part of a team.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
Greeting clients warmly and professionally when they arrive
Offering clients beverages and helping them get settled for their appointment
Keeping the reception area, conference rooms, and client areas clean, organized, and professional
Preparing conference rooms before and after client appointments
Scanning, copying, naming, and organizing client documents using a multifunction printer/copier
Helping with basic administrative projects as needed
Using office technology including email, calendars, scanners, copiers, phones, and basic document systems
Clocking in and out using a phone app or computer-based timekeeping system
Checking schedules, reviewing work-related messages, and completing basic digital forms or acknowledgments
Communicating professionally with clients, attorneys, and team members
Maintaining confidentiality with all client information
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is:
Reliable, punctual, and consistent
Professional in appearance, communication, and attitude
Comfortable working in a professional office environment
Experienced with basic office technology
Able to use email, calendars, scanners, copiers, computers, and phone/computer apps without significant hand-holding
Friendly and welcoming, but also organized and administratively capable
Able to stay calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
Detail-oriented and able to follow instructions
Willing to jump in and help wherever needed
Coachable and willing to receive feedback
Positive in attitude and willing to participate in team meetings
Able to recognize and share small wins, progress, and improvements
Respectful of confidential client information
Required Qualifications
Prior experience working in a professional office environment
Comfort using computers, email, calendars, scanners, copiers, phones, and basic office software
Ability to clock in and out using a phone app or computer-based timekeeping system
Ability to check and respond to work-related messages through digital systems
Ability to complete basic digital forms, acknowledgments, or onboarding tasks
Strong communication skills
Strong attendance and reliability
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Professional demeanor with clients and team members
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a law firm, financial office, medical office, real estate office, accounting office, or other professional services environment
Experience handling client documents or confidential information
Experience with scheduling, document organization, scanning, copying, or administrative support
Experience working in a fast-paced office where priorities can shift throughout the day
Technology Expectations
This position requires comfort with basic workplace technology. The right candidate must be able to use common office systems independently after training, including email, calendars, scanners, copiers, phones, and basic document systems.
The candidate must also be comfortable using technology for routine employment matters, including clocking in and out through an app on their phone or on a computer, checking schedules, reviewing messages, and completing basic digital forms or acknowledgments.
This is not a technical position, but it is also not a paper-only position. We need someone who can learn and use everyday office technology reliably and without repeated reminders or significant hand-holding.
How We Work
Skipton Law is a high-accountability, team-oriented office. We are kind, professional, and supportive, but we also expect people to show up prepared, stay engaged, follow through, and take pride in their work.
This role is not a good fit for someone who wants to do the bare minimum, avoid feedback, or simply “get through the day.” We are looking for someone who wants to be part of a strong team, contribute where needed, and improve over time.
We believe attitude and effort matter. We notice when someone is dependable, helpful, positive, coachable, and willing to learn. We also notice when someone is disengaged, careless, negative, or unwilling to take ownership.
During our Monday team meetings, each team member shares one personal win and one professional win. These wins do not need to be big. A win might be learning a new task, handling something more confidently, helping a teammate, having a good client interaction, improving a process, or making progress on something outside of work.
We do this because we want a team that is engaged, growth-minded, and able to recognize progress. We are not looking for perfection. We are looking for effort, ownership, and a positive contribution to the team.
Professional Conduct Expectations
This is a professional, client-facing office. Employees are expected to report to work ready and able to perform their duties, maintain appropriate workplace conduct, and contribute to a calm, respectful, and productive environment.
This role requires good judgment, emotional maturity, reliability, and professionalism. We are looking for someone who can stay focused, follow through, communicate respectfully, and avoid bringing unnecessary conflict or personal drama into the workplace.
Employees must not report to work impaired or under the influence of alcohol, marijuana, illegal drugs, or any substance that prevents them from safely, professionally, and effectively performing their job duties.
We are a supportive team, but we are also a high-accountability workplace. We expect employees to take ownership of their conduct, attitude, attendance, and performance.
This May Not Be the Right Fit If:
You are looking for your first office job
You are uncomfortable with computers, scanners, email, calendars, or office systems
You need extensive training on basic workplace technology
You prefer a slower-paced or highly repetitive role
You are only looking for a customer-service role and do not enjoy administrative work
You do not like receiving feedback
You struggle to maintain professional conduct, good judgment, or emotional maturity in the workplace
You are uncomfortable participating in team meetings
You need frequent reminders to complete routine responsibilities
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday
In-office position
Compensation
$22–$24 per hour, depending on experience and fit.
Benefits include: PTO, paid holidays, retirement plan after one (1) year of full-time employment
