Job Description:

Brockman Site Development is an established total site development construction company serving Orlando and Central Florida. We specialize in all facets of civil construction, from site clearing, earthwork, and underground utilities to parking lot and roadway construction.

We are seeking an experienced Site Development Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil construction estimating, with experience preparing competitive and accurate bids for site development, earthwork, underground utility, roadway, and paving projects.

Responsibilities

Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to develop complete project estimates
Perform quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, stormwater systems, paving, concrete, and related site development activities
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
Prepare detailed cost estimates, bid proposals, and project budgets
Identify project risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving alternatives
Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required
Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, vendors, and clients throughout the bidding process
Maintain accurate estimating records and bid documentation
Assist with project handoff and budget review after contract award

Requirements

Proven experience estimating site development, civil construction, or underground utility projects
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports
Strong understanding of site development construction methods and sequencing
Experience with quantity takeoffs and construction estimating software
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of estimating experience in site development or civil construction
Experience estimating projects involving earthwork, utilities, paving, and roadway construction
Experience using HeavyBid or comparable construction estimating software such as HCSS HeavyBid, B2W Estimate, InEight Estimate, Viewpoint Estimating, AGTEK, Bid2Win, or similar civil construction estimating platforms
Knowledge of local construction practices and permitting requirements in Central Florida
