About Us

Leimkuehler Orthotic-Prosthetic Center is a growing, family-owned prosthetic and orthotic healthcare company dedicated to helping people regain mobility, independence, and quality of life.

As our company continues to grow and expand into additional locations, we are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented, and technology-savvy individual to join our team as a Supply Chain & Purchasing Coordinator.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to learn, take ownership of an important part of a growing organization, and develop into a larger supply chain, purchasing, or operations role over time.

Position Overview

The Supply Chain & Purchasing Coordinator will serve as the central point of contact for purchasing, ordering, receiving, shipping, returns, and order tracking throughout our organization.

You will work closely with our clinicians, technicians, administrative team, vendors, manufacturers, and sales representatives to make sure the correct products are ordered accurately, received on time, properly documented, and delivered to the correct office or team member.

This position requires an individual who is extremely organized and detail-oriented. Many of our orders involve patient-specific medical devices and components, so accuracy is critical.

Over time, this person will become our internal expert on our vendors, products, part numbers, pricing, lead times, ordering processes, and eventually inventory management.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for company purchasing and supply ordering.
Receive purchasing requests from clinicians, technicians, and other team members and place orders accurately and promptly.
Order prosthetic and orthotic components, materials, supplies, custom-fabricated products, office supplies, and other company needs.
Receive incoming packages and verify that shipments match the original order.
Check products into our software and maintain accurate purchasing and receiving records.
Organize and distribute incoming products to the appropriate clinician, department, or office location.
Package and coordinate shipments between our different office locations.
Process product returns, exchanges, repairs, warranties, and credits.
Track outstanding orders and proactively follow up on delayed, missing, or backordered products.
Keep clinicians and technicians informed regarding order status, expected delivery dates, backorders, and other issues.
Develop strong working relationships with vendors, manufacturers, and sales representatives.
Learn our preferred vendors, commonly used products, part numbers, pricing, lead times, and ordering procedures.
Compare pricing and help identify opportunities for better purchasing terms and cost savings.
Maintain organized records of products, suppliers, pricing, and purchasing information.
Use manufacturer websites and online ordering portals to submit and track orders.
Digitally scan casts, molds, and other patient-specific items and upload files into manufacturer ordering systems and portals.
Learn and utilize new scanning technology, software, digital ordering systems, and other technology as our company continues to modernize.
Assist with developing and improving purchasing, receiving, shipping, and inventory procedures.
Eventually assist with company-wide inventory management and inventory controls.

Respectful and professional when working with experienced employees and clinicians
Confident enough to ask questions, follow up, and hold people accountable when information is missing
Able to be firm when necessary while remaining approachable and easy to work with
Willing and eager to learn
Interested in improving systems rather than simply following inefficient processes
Comfortable working in a growing company where responsibilities will expand over time

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required
Associate's or bachelor's degree is a plus but not required
Strong computer and technology skills required
Strong organizational and communication skills
Purchasing, logistics, shipping/receiving, inventory, healthcare, or supply-chain experience is helpful but not required
Previous experience in prosthetics and orthotics, medical devices, healthcare supplies, or durable medical equipment is a significant plus
Experience with digital scanning, purchasing software, inventory systems, or online vendor portals is a plus

We are willing to train the right person. Organization, attention to detail, technology skills, reliability, communication, and willingness to learn are more important to us than having years of previous experience.
