Full Job Description

Personal Injury Case Manager

Downtown LA Law Group, LLP

Downtown LA Law Group is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Case Manager to oversee a caseload of injury matters from treatment through settlement. This role requires strong medical knowledge, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding client service.

Our case managers do not work alone. You will be supported by a team that assists with property damage, records collection, scheduling, and administrative tasks, allowing you to focus on strategic case management and client advocacy.

This is an ideal role for someone who understands personal injury medical treatment, lien management, and case auditing, and who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

Medical Case Management

Review and understand client medical treatment, records, and reports.
Monitor treatment progress and identify gaps in care or documentation.
Ensure medical records and bills are requested, reviewed, and organized properly.

Lien and Medical Billing Coordination

Track medical providers and lienholders involved in each case.
Ensure final lien balances are requested and obtained in a timely manner.
Coordinate with lien departments to prepare cases for settlement negotiations.

Case Organization & File Management

Maintain well-organized digital case files and documentation.
Ensure all critical documents, correspondence, and medical updates are properly logged.
Conduct routine file audits to confirm case completeness and accuracy.

Legal Documentation

Prepare and track certified letters and important legal correspondence.
Ensure deadlines, statute issues, and critical notices are handled properly.

Team Collaboration

Work with internal teams responsible for:
Property damage handling
Medical records and billing collection
Administrative case support
Delegate tasks effectively to ensure cases move efficiently.

Client Experience

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients.
Provide clear updates and guidance throughout the case.
Maintain a high level of empathy, professionalism, and responsiveness.
Ensure maximum client satisfaction throughout the life of the case.

Qualifications

2+ years personal injury case management experience preferred
Strong understanding of medical treatment, medical terminology, and personal injury documentation
Experience managing medical liens and provider communications
Highly organized with strong file management skills
Ability to audit cases and identify missing documentation
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment
Experience with case management software (Filevine or similar preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $70.00 per hour
