Full Job Description

Job Overview

Expanding multi-state law firm located in Salem, New Hampshire is seeking a full-time Senior Accountant to join growing accounting team.

The Senior Accountant is a key member of the firm’s accounting team and reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer. In collaboration with the CFO, the Senior Accountant will play a critical role in carrying out the department’s objectives. This position is well suited for an accounting professional looking to expand on their current experience and learn about this industry. The role features a variety of general accounting responsibilities, including analysis work, and industry specific duties. A well-qualified candidate must be versatile, have a solid working knowledge of general ledger and U.S. GAAP, have excellent analytical and critical thinking skills and be able to communicate and summarize financial data clearly and accurately

Duties

Preparing journal entries
Preparing general ledger account reconciliations
Sending outgoing wire transfers
Processing daily debit card transactions
Preparing various ad hoc analyses
Preparing deliverables for year-end financial statement review
Assisting with deliverables for client audits
Assisting others on accounting team on occasion as needed
Completing projects and other accounting work assigned by CFO

Requirements and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with at least three years of relevant experience
Experience with accounting systems (QuickBooks is a plus)
Proficient using MS Excel at intermediate level
Solid understanding and experience with general ledger, financial statements and U.S. GAAP
Ability to analyze financial data and identify and resolve discrepancies
Strong attention to detail
Excellent organizational and time management skills, dependable
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Possess a positive work ethic and ability to maintain confidentiality

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with occasional extended hours

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
