Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join our fast-paced healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide expert nursing care to patients experiencing urgent and emergent health issues. Your energy, critical thinking, and dedication will ensure timely assessments, effective interventions, and compassionate support for patients and their families. Duties

Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews to determine urgency and prioritize care.
Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and other treatments following established protocols and safety standards.
Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner to document patient information accurately and efficiently.
Manage airway interventions, ventilator support, and aseptic techniques during emergency procedures to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Conduct diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection, processing, and interpretation of results such as ICD coding and lab reports.
Provide acute pain management, trauma care, cardiac catheterization support, and infectious disease care tailored to individual patient needs.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and coordination of post-acute or home care services.
Demonstrate proficiency in triage procedures to prioritize patients effectively based on acuity levels in accordance with NCQA standards.
Support specialized areas such as pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health, or neonatal resuscitation procedures as needed.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining strict confidentiality of patient records and medical documentation.

Experience

Proven experience working in emergency medicine within a Level I or Level II trauma center environment is highly preferred.
Critical care experience including ICU or PICU settings enhances your ability to manage complex cases efficiently.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner is essential for accurate documentation and communication.
Demonstrated proficiency in advanced skills such as suturing, catheterization (urinary or vascular), tube feeding management, and ventilator operation.
Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities is advantageous.
Knowledge of infectious disease protocols, infection control practices, and hospital medicine standards ensures safe patient care delivery.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) is required.
