Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, payroll processing, and tax preparation. This role is responsible for bookkeeping, payroll, and tax preparation.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and general ledger accounts.
Perform account reconciliations and assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
Process and review payroll to ensure timely and accurate employee payments.
Prepare payroll tax filings and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Assist with preparation and filing of business and individual tax returns.
Prepare financial reports and supporting documentation as needed.
Maintain compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
Accounting experience preferred
Experience with payroll processing and payroll tax reporting
Experience preparing business and individual tax returns
Knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles
Proficiency with accounting and tax software (Quickbooks and Drake) and Microsoft Excel
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
