Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and supporting overall financial operations. Your expertise in various accounting software and adherence to accounting standards will ensure our financial data remains precise and compliant. Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including data entry, journal entries, and maintaining the general ledger using accounting software.
Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Process payroll accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and standards.
Handle accounts payable and receivable functions by invoicing clients, tracking payments, and managing vendor payments.
Prepare financial reports including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Conduct account analysis and account reconciliation to identify discrepancies or errors promptly.
Support budgeting processes by maintaining financial records and assisting with financial report writing for internal or external stakeholders.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with a strong understanding of accounting principles such as double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and journal entries.
Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks (especially QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, or similar systems; experience with Quicken is a plus.
Solid knowledge of corporate accounting practices as well as non-profit accounting is desirable.
Familiarity with payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliation, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation.
Strong skills in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) for data analysis and reporting purposes.
Knowledge of GAAP standards and accounting concepts necessary for accurate financial reporting.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to perform account reconciliations accurately and efficiently.
Ability to adapt to various financial software platforms and maintain organized records in accordance with established accounting standards.
